I did this. Overly built an e36 to the point i practically couldn't do anything over than slide it on a track. The track near me ended up getting shut down, and now the closest track was 2 hours away. Not to mention the cost of maintaining a drift car, my Focus ST, truck, and commuter car was just a lot for me. I miss that car, but I think selling it was the right move as I kinda finished what I wanted to do with it and certain other circumstances forced me to the realize it was time for me to do something new.

Looks awesome, I just found them the other day and was curious about anyone using their products. I will definitely have to go through and do mine now, appreciate you sharing! One tip, not sure if it was your camera quality or lighting but several parts were very grainy and didn't do you justice. May just experiment around with that and see what needs tweaked/upgraded. Great content though!

I saw their Facebook ad about a month ago and thought I'd give it a try. I won't be able to drive the car until April next year due to snow, but the cover is definitely a good improvement. I always have trouble filming inside the car . My overhead lights struggle to illuminate the interior of the car unless it's a bright sunny day and I can open my bay doors. I did get the car outside at the end of the video and you can see a definite difference. It's the same when I'm at my work table. It's new this year, and my old phone struggles with lighting. I was using both phones when I was showing the ordering process.

So I got a question. I bought my dad’s 83 that has had the heater core abandoned for about 10 years. If I reconnect it, will I be able to check for leaks without taking the whole dash apart?
@BasinMotorsports16 күн бұрын
The connections are in the engine bay, and if the core isn't blocked up or cracked it shouldn't leak. If it does leak, you'll find fluid coming out the bottom that will drip on the passenger side floor. You might try to flush it out before running coolant through it. Water may be easier to clean up if something happens.
@Tstrav16 күн бұрын

Very well explanation. I have to ask this. Does the air coming out cause a turbulence from the exit point onward to the roof vg, wing, wake?
@BasinMotorsportsАй бұрын
Not really. The front edge causes a slight turbulence to help pull (or create a slight vacuum) the air front the engine compartment. After the vents it all blends together as it gets to the cowl and base of the windshield. Race Louvers has a few videos demonstrating how it all flows in a wind tunnel.

Looks like way too much resin (assuming this is a single pour, since it looks like the cloth is rippling a bit). You want about a 50/50 CF/resin ratio for the layup (brushing between layers to infuse the resin in between the fibers), and add a clear pour on top if you want to protect it/have a smooth look. Not sure if this is meant to be functional or just aesthetic, but either way it would benefit from the above process. Feel free to correct me of course, I've only learned about this stuff in an engineering lecture; I haven't had the chance to try it myself.

The purpose is to show what the carbon looks like after resin application. It's all visual.

I don’t think you’ll see any difference on the gauges. I could see much hotter heat in the winter through your HVAC from better heat transfer to the heater core. Maybe the coolant warms up a little quicker from absorbing more heat from the motor. As far as actually seeing a difference on the gauges.. your entire cooling system is controlled by the thermostat. It will always keep it at its designed temperature. If this product removes heat better than 50/50 on its own, it’ll just close the thermostat slightly and limit the coolant flow rate a touch to keep it at its designed temperature. The alternative is having super shit heat transfer, say super foamy coolant. The thermostat would just be wide open full time to make up for shitty transfer with more flow rate.
