What has your battery life looked like compared to a stock board? I know Tony claims there shouldn't be a difference in battery life, but I feel like with the way you're gonna ride VESC, you'll end up seeing a difference.

Whats a lil duro..? As if the tire names werent already complicated enough ... I have no idea what fits what board/hub anymore.

So a lil duro is a xr sized tire modeled after the normal ‘enduro’. But it’s a little smaller so with it being just that little bit smaller it fits into a pint without rubbing. Where a full sized tire would rub and cause issues. So while it’s small on a xr, it’s big on the smaller pint.

Really enjoy your videos! I recently installed the GOAT on my ADV and at the same time replaced the bearings to (FAG) The stock bearings started to make clicking sounds. The FAG has much better seals. But, after riding about 80 miles, I noticed my range is not what it used to be. After 10 miles of riding, I used to have about 70% battery remaining. Now I have about 60%. Was wondering if you noticed any decrease in range with your Goat tire? Or maybe it’s the bearings?

I personally haven’t noticed any range loss at all. Maybe bump up your psi a little and see if that helps. The Goat has a nice squishiness to it but I wouldn’t expect it losing much if any range.

Unfortunately, the guy who designed them doesn’t sell them anymore. But you can certainly find them and print them if you’ve got access to a printer. You’d want to look in the ‘FloatWheel’ discord under 3d prints.

Hey man! I just went to switch my grip tape on my front floatwheel footpad to the hexagon 1wheelparts grip tape. I think I damaged it while taking off the original because once I took it off and put the hexagon grip tape on with the protective film it didn’t work. Do you have any tips for taking off the original front grip tape to changing it. Potentiallly a video because no one has done the floatwheel specifically. Especially with the layered sensor pad. 😊

Bummer! I could certainly do a quick grip tape video next time I do it. I’d recommend to heat it with a heat gun or hair dryer for a good 45-60 seconds. And then when you start peeling the old grip off, try to not pull up. You want to keep it low instead of at a up word angle.

The recent pint update certainly gave the regular pint x more uumph but the v kit truly unlocks it. The Px-v with the bigger ‘lil duro’ has honestly turned into my favorite board of all time. And I’ve owned a lot of em!

Thank you! And mannnn, that’s a hard call for sure. The goat will give you more agility for sure. The tp2 has more brute force to drive its way thru. Really depends on how you like to handle the trails. I personally like being able to navigate quicker but still enjoy bonking over some of it. So my personal call is the goat. But I say that without trying to take away from the tp2.

So you’ll get pushback later. Think of Amps means more power. Volts means more top speed. This is an amps perk. Combined with vesc not limiting and forcing the board to pushback at early (stock) speeds. People push thru pushback and get 20+ mph on a stock pint x (not safe because you’re fighting pushback). I’m 160 pounds and can comfortably cruise at 19-20mph but I’m not pushing past 20. Tony (floatwheel) is putting out a 84v battery upgrade second quarter of 2025. That will unlock more obtainable speed. Can’t wait for that. I just want to be cruising 22-23 mph with plenty of overhead for safety. 84v will give that.

@@RIDE-o-REBELLION-o-FLOATCAST this sounds great and all, but one thing that concerns me with getting all this extra power from just using a different controller is battery degradation. do you happen to know if doing this degrades the battery or not? (all batteries degrade but I just wonder if it makes it worse). also do you still have the same range or have that taken a hit?

Range has been good! I know one mixed (trail and street) ride I got 27 miles range. As for the forza, I ditched that tire damn near the same time it showed up. So that’s one I wouldn’t be able to accurately answer.

Nice review. I just put one on my ADV too (also soft), super love it on dirt. I'm riding Nico's Street Growler tune with it, it's a carvey beast now. I get a bit of speed wobbles when going fast on asphalt, not you? I"m wondering if it's my tune or if I'm doing something stupid. I have a few thousand miles of ride time on my XR but it's still possible I'm doing something stupid of course. But yeah super love this tire, it made me finally love my Floatwheel.

I don’t notice much (if at all) in terms of wobbles at speed. I’ll ride higher speeds of 25ish and feel nice and secure and stable. In the same breath it’s not a flat flat tire (in comparison of something like the trail pro/slayer or Enduro for example). What psi are you running it at? I find 14-15psi to be my golden zone. I’m also a 160ish pound rider. Glad you’re loving it!

Hi! It’s a bit of a tricky question. I’ll try and break things down a bit. Original Pint: outdated and not really for adults anymore. Pint X is a fun and nimble primarily street board. It can do trails but it’s not super powerful. Floatwheel did just release an upgrade for it but in order to go that route, you need to be comfortable with vesc. Pint x is a fun street ripper. But can be too small for bigger riders. GT is a good balance. A lot of aftermarket love for it too. Also has a gt-V kit you can add later on to really unlock it. Gt is a good well rounded option. Gt-s if you’re really wanting a focus on trails. But keep in mind you lose some range with this board. FloatWheel is my personal preference. Torquey as hell. Can reach high speeds safely. Great range. But you do have to deal with crypto and again will be in the vesc world. Also budget ranges greatly. Pint x is the cheapest recommended option at like 1200ish. FloatWheel is right around 2,000.00 Gt is just over 2,000.00 Gt-s is right around 3,000.00

Hmmmm. A lot of these things are going to make it easier but you can have luck with breaking beads with a 2x4. Air pump to set the beads can be done with a hand pump but that might be a bit tough for certain tires. I swear by a tire wrap tho. But others have used ratchet straps with luck. Lube is cheap.
