The slowdown is when the game needs to save. If you don't have a VMU, the slowdown won't occur.

For the slot machine let me explain the outcome, if the slot machine lines up as 3 S's you get 50 rings, if it's 3 7's it's 10-30 rings, if it's 3 force jewels you get a force jewel, if nothing lines up you lose somewhere from 1-30 rings, if it doesn't stop spinning you get an "ACCIDENT!!!" which encounters a boss fight, and if the machine explodes you lose a turn. And for the winged Unicorn or Alicorn if anyone is a Brony, the 3 outcomes are it flies away and you get a force jewel, the other 2 you actually get to fly on it, but 1 sends you closer to the precious stone and the other the wrong direction. ,for the one with Tails with that teliporting machine, sometimes like shown here if it collapse to the ground you lose a turn, but sometimes it works and it either teliports you to the right direction or the wrong direction. And for the magician one, you pick 1 of 3 cards the right one will give you either rings or a force jewel, another one will trigger an "Accident", and the last one will cost you rings.

I don't know why People dislike this game, sure there's some flaws but I still like it, the flaws in my opinion are... 1: You can only pause while on the board, everything else you can't pause, 2: The Duels, 3: Some of the A-I's are not even like the Chao would beat everyone if the CPU picks it, 4: some of the boards like the Nature Zone and Forth Dimension Space take forever, and 5: The Force Jewels are pricey at the Jewel shop compared to items on the Mario Party games which are pocket change. But what makes this game enjoyable are... 1: The Battles against enemies, 2: The event spaces for Mini Games and Mini Events, 3: There's 8 playable characters compared to the 1st 2 Mario Party games which only have 6 even though you have to unlock the 4 but still that's 2 more playable options, 4: Determining the order by playing a mini game compared to rolling a die, and 5: you have the options to go whatever direction you want to go, unlike Mario Party you have to follow the arrows.
