GLZ Radio Israel, 25.12.80 Recorded at Eshel Studios Tel Aviv 1. Dj intro (to 0.28 seconds) 2. Instro slow blues 3.DJ chat 8.18 to 8.47 4. Slow blues with vocal. Both a bit fool no more -ish in places? 😊👍 Peter Green Guitar Shimon Holly Guitar Yossi Buzin Drums Fima Shuster Keyboard ? Bass Track titles; "Wandering the streets" "Sometimes I'm sad" Thanks, enjoyed it♥👍 The Les Paul played on this recording was owned by and brought to the session by Shimon Holly. (Who plays his Strat on this recording) In the photo at the start, taken during this session, Peter appears to be wearing the same checkered trousers he was wearing in the USA when Mick Fleetwood bought Peter the replacement 1960 sunburst Les Paul in 1979 from Frank Lucido (that Peter played on Brown Eyes on the Tusk album, check out the alt version of the song, which has more Peter than the final album version.) Ronnie Johnson remembers Peter with a sunburst Les Paul during the White Sky album sessions in May 1981, but is not certain whether it is the very same guitar. The guitar is now with a private owner in Germany. Checkout ; 'Vintage guitar magazine' website, article; 'a guitar for Greeny' for the full story and pic of Peter with the guitar the night it was purchased. Also checkout; The Times of Israel 22nd August 2020,: "The last blues of Peter Green" article. It gives the full story of this session.

Wow! He sounds like the Peter Green of old. Something changed later. He couldn’t play that well when he was with his Splinter group. Maybe his medication dulled his playing.

I believe Peter Green was well and truly cooked by 1980, and much as I like this music I don’t think Peter could have made it. Never again was he as good as he was in the late 60’s, and I think Peter had sold ‘Greenie’ or given it away by this time.

The more I listen to PG, the more I believe John and Mick sold their souls for fame and fortune. Peter, Danny and Jeremy did not want to be part of the insane greed the music industry has become. Its so apparent. Fantastic music by PG. A prayer for greatness which fleeting TY for posting this music❤

@@readsmith4223it’s a bit of both. There’s a reason they became a pop band after they left. I don’t take the “selling their souls” bit literally, but they did the 70s version of selling out. He did also play a band after leaving. So, he was able to play and function enough to be with a band, despite their narrative. I think they don’t want to admit that despite his mental health problems, he was partly right. The rest of the band was kinda selfish in how they treated him and his beliefs about money.

I listen in the last days to albums of Peter Green on KZbin, he had 3 great eras in his career, the albums he did with Fleetwood mac, his solo albums between 1979 to 1983 and his albums with Splinter band in the early 21 century, the combination of his vocals and his guitar playing is awesome, not like Jimi Hendrix who was a good guitar player but a terrible vocalist, Jimi hated his own voice, i read a lot about Peter Green but this is the first time i find out that he was in Israel, Peter Green was a fantastic guitar player,R.I.P., thanks for sharing.

After the first track and before the second track Peter Green is listed on lead guitar. I don't speak Hebrew, but I managed to identify that particular sentence. Apart from that I can't put the rest of what's said into context. Therefore: is Peter playing lead on the second track as well? I ask because some claim otherwise.

this is most definetly peter green playing, the first track is The Woman on the beach by Peter green, from the Israile recordings, and yass this sound of his guitar was his last real playings before he got ruined by the world of groupie drugs and mental institution. Nobody else is able to play like this and this Peter at his most rawest and honest.

First blues he plays is Woman on the beach, and yess these tunes are from the Israil recordings, where there very few track surfaced to the public mainly, this woman on the beach, which i personally think is one of Peter most soulful etherial blues tunes that exist in the world.. also this utube upload is special since, its radio live, and its bit different than the just bare audio version that is floating in the internet, these other tracks are such a treat, been searching these songs for long, since coming across the Israile recordings, but only finding one two songs of the recordings which supose to have been seven tracks, certainly certain pinicle Peter Green, since after these , he got closed down to mental bin and destroyed by electric shock treatments.
