На 27:54 гармония минорной субдоминанты в противоречии с уртекстом и известными мне редакциями. Проще говоря, "си-бемоль" вместо "си", указанного в нотах. Кто-либо еще так играет?

Always and Everywhere Bravissimo! A Force and an Equilibrium, an Sensitivity and a Detail, Incomparable. Cristal clear and detailed articulation and phraseology. Pure astonishment.
Sokolov is a true living treasure! Nobody is like him!

Sokolov plays the same notes from the same copy everyone else have but in his hands it is always new Bach. Or whoever`s oeuvre he takes on for that matter. Every time he catches one off guard with something new one never expected to hear in familiar piece. Same here. And yet it feels like a revelation to hear Bach so intimately sounding with crystalline purity, so impossibly airy, literally lit from within in every note. Sokolov has this unique lived-in quality in his attitude as if Bach`s sublime musical logic does not make him to speed up and show off the bravura of the composer's thought. He`d rather revel in it and immerse us into the calligraphic complexities of voices and one does completely trust his guidance in that magically unhurried journey. Hearing Bach like that anew one doesn't want to deal with whatever "streamlined" or "modernized" pretenses that will rob one of the rhythmic and sonic richness one experiences in this interpretation. That is for the others. Sokolov is not courting media nor audiences. We are basically allowed to witness his exchanges with composer and if we are sensitive enough then we are in for an otherworldly event. Good enough for a mortal...

Excellent version live, Fernandez shows his best virtuosity and sound. Great video direction too, fantastic! But the Caribbean, despite huge effort from both guitarist and orchestra, seems a 007 movie sound track...

There is a very interesting story, and the more i hear about it the more i realize it's true. Ida went, in her youth, to study with Segovia, and after about 5 minutes of watching her play for him he told her that there is nothing that he can teach her, and to go home an continue her work. // It's sounds crazy, but Segovia was actually not a fast player, and not even one of the greater virtuosos of the day. It was more that he brought attention to lesser-known, but important Classical Guitar composers of his era. // Still though, for the master to just let her go on the first lesson says something about how good Ida Presti really was.
