@StatsandStories2 ай бұрын
He’s solid. His decision making in the PnR is close to where it needs to be and even if he gets caught behind the roller he’s quick enough off the trail to have a good shot contest if not block a smaller player. He is laterally a bit laggy but I think he makes up for it with his hands and defensive IQ.

Topic can't go to a team like the Hornets. They won't allow him to shine and will have a clique to freeze him out. Young brothas are all like that. Very few places allow a player to grow. Nuggets, Mavericks and Spurs seeming a minority.

Not only do draft another pg who can’t shoot.. He isn’t a good defender either.. So let’s have a backcourt of below avg defenders and take the ball out of 1 of the best passer in the league.. No just no.. Give us an elite point of attack defender like Castle or Holland and keep Lamelo at pg.. We have Micic who we just traded for and he is an older version of Topich so nooooo.. Get the role player with upside that keeps Lamelo and Miller from guarding another teams best perimeter threat..
@charliesmarts18 ай бұрын
Hornets need defense. Topic not it. Hornets best lineups this past year had Miller at the 2 spot. Hornets need a 3/4 IMO. Matas, Cody, Holland, Castle. Those are the 4 we should be after. Imagine Melo Miller Miles Matas Mark The league is getting taller. This lineup is the future.
@StatsandStories8 ай бұрын
Hornets need better structure, which they’re getting with a new coach AND Melo to be healthy because when he is the team is solid. I see where you’re coming from with Topic not being it though. I like the idea of Melo focusing on self creation because he is one of the most entertaining and prolific scorers I’ve seen hoop and I just want him in his bag more than I want to see him playmake. I have more of a Melo fan take than a Hornets fan take I think so I can see why Topic isn’t on most peoples list. Not sure if you saw the combine interviews. Matas is shooting up my board, I like his game, the size in clearly there AND his attitude is PRIME to be paired with a Brandon Miller. I like the confidence and the respect he gave to his former teammate Ron Holland. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oHKkqaB6lNWrgMUsi=tEnY4SwRXSjDrZ70 I do 100% agree, the league is getting bigger, I’m actually making a video about that lol but you’re right about that for sure

Why would the hornets draft a ball dominant pg beside lamelo, topic can’t play off ball from him and there’s not a world where topic should get the ball 25% as much as Brandon miller or lamelo, you are very focused on size fit not play style and fit within the system, also the hornets are drafting 6 bro idk if you watch basketball or watch film or anything but topic is going 2, 4 or 8.
@StatsandStories8 ай бұрын
Topic just got a sever no contact knee injury. Most of the teams 1-5 need someone who CAN shoot NOT a hopeful. Lamelo’s developmental years were spent with a ball dominant playmaking guard who’s a top 10 passer in the league when he’s healthy, his brother, Lonzo Ball. I’ve been watching Melo hoop since his AAU days, he’s a NATURAL scorer way more than a natural playmaker. If he had someone to set him up, a downhill, pure playmaker that can kick out to him or Brandon Miller, the scheme can work. Especially since they have Tre Mann who can fill in while Lamelo is the primary playmaker. Also, the league is trending towards size again, it’s a pendulum and because of Denver, Wemby, the T-Wolves, everyone had to get bigger. I hear what you’re saying but I do watch ball, and Topic is not at a scoring level worth drafting in the top 5 in my opinion.
@ZuluZuluEcho8 ай бұрын
@@StatsandStories he’s not being looked at in the top 5 as a scorer he’s a prospect that’s known for his playmaking and size at position so ofc he’s not a natural scorer idk why that matters if we are talking about all archetypes of players, wizards need a playmaker to set them up or a center but I could see them going a center later in the first round rather than 2 but I like dillingham over topic, spurs want to put a pg next to Wemby and he’s their style of player, if he is there at 6 they should not draft a pg lamelo is an on ball scorer/playmaker I understand he can play off ball but it doesn’t make sense to build around him being an off ball scorer more than he needs to be. Especially when there will most likely be better fits available at 6 like holland castle risacher buzelis so on.

you definitely read my mind. The 4th pick will definitely be one of the Kentucky guards it comes down many options however for me it's like who can fit into our system the most. I would draft Reed Sheppard, if he's off early then Rob Dillingham makes the most sense. The 8th pick, Dalton Knecht would be the pick because they traded Doug McDermott during the season. Coach Pop would make both of those rookies into defensive players just so they can adjust into the NBA. Once they have developed including playing w/ Wemby were going to have an exciting future in San Antonio. Let's see what happens. #GoSpursGo

If im the hawks i blow it up completely and start the rebuild this #1 pick was a blessing. Trade Trae and Murray for a treasure chest of firsts and build around sarr and Johnson and the other picks
@StatsandStories8 ай бұрын
If they didn’t have 1-1 this year I’d say go for it. Sarr COULD change the outcome of this team IF his floor spacing pans out. Imagine Trae, JJ, and Sar being your core pieces. You move DM for future (attempt at ‘25 class) and get one of the higher end guys in a better draft. Be a winning team with a good understanding of your assets while maintaining their future options to keep the pick(s) or trade out of the draft and fill in the gaps. Getting rid of Trae just resets a clock with a lot of time left to tick. Not sure it’s my favorite idea with having Alex Sarr (or reach a little for Zacc and pair the two tall ass wings Zacc and JJ)

@StatsandStories8 ай бұрын
KAT off the bench is wildly unlikely lol in the full video I explain what I think would work and it’s decrease KAT’s direct responsibility on Jokic and let Naz be a bigger problem, which he did, he held the nuggets to 0-11 and played AMAZING defense whether it was cutting off ones, icing the ball, perfect hedging and help but mainly his work affecting shots.
@new_york_giants_ladodgers_72388 ай бұрын
You are hilarious thinking they would bench KAT, Naz Reid might actually be better than KAT, KATs just too much of a face of the franchise and he hasnt been benched all year its not going to happen in the second round of the playoffs, when were up 2-0 one game after he lead the team in scoring.

Made this after game 1, not game 2. In the full video on my channel you’ll see this more an endorsement on Naz Reid’s defense and to let KAT be one of the best offensive bigs we’ve seen and avoiding fouling it’ll be more successful. That happened in game two, Naz held the nuggets to 0-11 and played immaculate defense without needing to block the ball.
