Very nice job on the boat and for what you paid you got a heck of a deal.

What did you expect for $400 dollars. The deck was worth that! Nice rebuild, but something tells me you made this video to play victim for more views(just my opinion)…

Very nice restoration on an older Nitro. I'm 76 and have owned and restored several bass boats and I can appreciate the work you have done and to encourage you to think about your next project.

$400.00 for a SCAG even with a blown motor is a great deal!

What is the horse power of the motor to get 45-50 mph? How much does the boat weigh? Thanks for the reply? Great job by the way!!

While he had the blower shroud off he should have tightened the sump bolts as these always leak unless you tighten them each time it's open.

I know I'm in some way weird, but watching someone make something like this look new again, kind'a gives me a woody!😊 Leaves a feeling of accomplishment when you're done. Well done.
@PaulHigginbothamSrАй бұрын
Ace I would probably put a new lifter in that position if not all four, probably needs rings too and a cylinder hone. Did you see how long it took to pump up those lifters? They all need changed. That is one nice mower, like for proffesionals.
@PaulHigginbothamSrАй бұрын
Just tightening the drain hose by just twisting the hose is inadequate. Almost guaranteed to leak after it runs awhile.
@shawnstjohn38312 ай бұрын
Do a compression test on all the cylinders. If it's low (50-100), then put oil on top the piston through the plug hole. Run another compression test with the added oil. If the compression raises, you'll know your rings are either stuck or need replaced.

Great job, a lot of attention to detail. Maybe I missed it but would you share the amount of man hours you spent and total cost of the entire project. This had to be a labor of love and for me I enjoyed watching the transformation. Congratulations on a job well done.

Why would you not wash it prior to working on it? Not only would it be easier and more pleasant to work on, it would prevent contamination from the dirt and you'd see any other problems hidden under the dirt. A few minutes well spent.

Don't waste your time and grease doing those front bearings - they are sealed bearings and the grease will not get into the bearing, the same as the spindles on the deck, or most of them. The grease nipples are just a sales gimmick.

I’m doing a skeeter myself and she was rough to start (still rough tho lol) and am already in it about 3k in and just past the halfway point to completely restored but by the time I’m done I’m looking right around the same value between 15-20k (probably worth 20-25 if I do power pole and upgrade trolling motor and fish finder but that’s adding like 7k) all with a total of 4500 to get it back to what it was and then some. Hoping to wrap up the rest of the bodywork this weekend then I’ll just have flooring and a bit of fiberglass in the bilge to replace and she’ll be show room ready. Buying used when it comes to boats and dumping sweet equity into it is always the way to go imo. Only thing in not looking forward to is the longee board. I’m looking at getting another to pay for the upgrades to mine now tho and maybe put some money back in my pocket😂

Surely five minutes and a coat of paint on the flywheel would have protected it from rusting like it already has and made it last a little longer. Being American made it won't last very long anyway, but you could try to help it a bit.
