Hi Clive! I have just started on this (watching the video) and I see you are having a lot of change in the terrain and scenery on this one. I used to quite like circular routes to run/walk. They can be particularly good if "home" is near the centre should you wish to get back quick. Bye!

Have you done the Leicester round ?
@davidberesford700911 күн бұрын
Hi Clive! That brings back memories. These days I walk with sticks because of a lack of balance, but there was a time when I would get up early, and run/walk from Loughborough out through Swithland Wood and up to Old John Tower. On one occasion It was foggy, and I suddenly met a stag in full antler on my path. I saluted it and went home. Bye!

Hi Clive! Scenic? Not so much, Atmospheric? Definitely! I am glad you all survived the adventure. Of course you couldn't climb it now; You would have to climb Yr Wyddfa instead. Bye!

I think it will take a long time for Yr Wyddfa to catch on, it has been known as Snowdon for such a long time. However the Welsh makes sense.

Thanks for sharing Clive, I'm planning on doing this route in May 25 with a tent and have a couple of questions for you. How heavy was your pack and how easy is it to get to the site in Hinderwell? Thanks in advance
@clivestrudwickАй бұрын
Hi James, thanks for watching my videos. My pack weighed between 11 and 12kg. When you arrive a Port Mulgrave you will hit a tarmac road, this bears away from the coast towards Hinderwell. Follow the road, take the left hand fork when you are in the village up to the High Street. Turn left and the Serenity Camp site is a little way along the road on your right. Hope you have good weather for your walk, I really enjoyed the Cleveland Way. ATB Clive

I had to come back to this to post a comment. I saw that there were no comments before I started watching the vlog, but I didn't realise that it was because the end is so sudden. Nice brief interlude, the end is (almost) in sight. Watch out for ticks! Since I got into Ren (Ren Gill - just put that name into YT) I am more aware of the dangers of ticks. He was bitten in his late teens, and has suffered with lime disease and misdiagnosis complications since.
@clivestrudwick2 ай бұрын
@davidberesford7009 Hi, as I said it is the first time I have had them. I was a bit surprised and nervous about whether I had found them all. They are scary and lime disease is horrendous. Mirranda Hart suffered from it for years without a diagnosis.

Hi Clive! I'm a tad jealous that you did the walk. You know the saying: Been There, Done That, Got The Tee-Shirt? Well I went to Lindisfarne on a coach holiday, walked the paths on the island, and bought a pilgrimage T Shirt in the shop, not because I did the walk, (I didn't) but because the illuminated cross on the front was spectacular.

Hi Clive! "There is nobody in the country who is lower than me" For the UK does that make you the lowest of the low? When I was at school back in the 60's, when in my teens, I was taken on a school trip to a local colliery, and we went down t' mine. Yes in one of those cage lifts that travel down faster than if you could falling. So how low can you go? Or is that cheating? You could try getting to the physical Centre, but I know that is debated. Thanks for the vicarious walk! Bye!
@clivestrudwick2 ай бұрын
Hi I have always wanted to go down a mine, I love tunnels and underground works. To be honest I do not know how they decide what is the lowest spot in the country, I guess it has to be natural rather than man made ! ATB thanks for watching Clive

Hi Clive. I think that most of the rock you see around Beacon Hill is metamorphic, having been changed by the heat of the igneous (volcanic) rock. But looking the local geology up on't'internet I read of pyroclastic flow and fine grained granite from another volcano nearby in Whitwick. Complicated stuff! Thanks for the armchair walk. Bye!

Hi Chris, thanks for watching and subscribing. I am glad that I walked the whole of the Thames and not just the official Thames path. The walk was a fascinating experience seeing how the river life changed as I progressed along its banks. The Hoo Peninsular seemed a very lonely place, the further east I travelled the more forgotten it felt. So yes I think it is an easy place to wild camp. ATB Clive

I can't say art is especially my thing. I find it hard to understand some so called artistic creations, but paintings of things like landscapes, the skill and talent amaze me. So I don't think I would ever pay £15 to look at an art collection. The cafe and w/c sound appealing though on a long walk :) Thanks for watching Clive
