Thanks for doing these interviews! They are very interesting and inspiring. Could you please consider compressing the intro/outro songs so they are at a similar volume level with the interviews? I about blow my eardrums every time the interview ends. Thanks

I don't know why everyone is so up in arms. I do think you should register with a PRO, Just register all your points on the songwriting side with a PRO, leave the Publishing at 0% and allocate the 200% songwriting however you decide with your bandmates/songwriting team/producer, etc. Only register your publishing if you are actually going to operate as a Publisher/Label who pitches their music. You can just assign all the points to the songwriting side, so when a publisher approaches you, they can buy out your points and not have to battle with a bunch of red tape and amateur publishers who have no idea what they're doing. You really shouldn't own any publishing unless you know what you're doing.

Also-how's "I Gotta Little Crush On You" doing?
@robertmarino42313 күн бұрын
PhD getting back to you on ID-EGO-and SUPEREGO. Yes, they are terms referring to Siggie Freud's early conceptualization of the mind. ID-the basic drives-the primal urges-the unconscious mind-it can get you into trouble if the SUPEREGO [your conscience/society's norms] doesn't hold it in check. The EGO-your sense of self-your direction in life-negotiates the pull between ID and SUPEREGO. Example- "Ooh, I'd like to rob that bank"[ID]. "But the money doesn't belong to me-and my mother said it's not nice"[SUPEREGO] "I'm a dork and can't walk and chew gum at the same time-forget it" [EGO]

BEWARE!! Taxi is a JOKE, they are charlatans! They have ZERO legitimate connections to mainstream sources (the only ones where you can make a decent buck). And even if you ARE able to hook up with a client with them it is ALWAYS some little B.S. startup company. At least it was MY experience and that of a couple friends. so, again B E W A R E ! (& don't give them any of your hard-earned $$) 😉

The "id" represents your most emotionally immature and impulsive desires like that of a self-centered four year old. Now you know.

Learn. Listen to the forwards. Pick one genre label per week and listen to only those tracks. Active listening.

You could ask the people on the TAXI forum (forums.taxi.com) what they think it is, and look for consensus. If there IS consensus, that could point you in the right direction. And then you could go to that genre on Spotify and listen to a bunch of music in that genre to absorb everything you can so you can become fluent in it. If you find that your music doesn't fit into a genre, know that it will make it more difficult for people in the industry to find it useful/usable. That's true for the sync and record label aspects of the industry, both.

No - 'Instros' is confusing. Looks like a possible 'typo', and could easily be misunderstood. IMHO. Your mileage may vary. Use words that make is EASY to understand.

Happy New Year! I'm a new TAXI member and DID go to the rally, and my biggest criticism is that I couldn't attend ALL the sessions! I've only done a handful of submissions and none have gotten forwarded but really appreciate the feedback - it's a steep learning curve and I'm doing things I've never done before... deep dive in Metadata, song structure, recordingtechniques, alternate mixes... but the most important thing for me is I'm building a catalog and leveraging TAXI to help me put my best foot forward without sticking my foot in the mud by having a helpful filter. I'll be over the moon when I get my first forward
