Officially the 6th fastest time ever. If you ignore the dodgy Russian or Czech Republic times from 80s the 4th fastest time Either way great run and well done on the olympic gold

Throw Phoebe Gill in there and the UK have some top class 800m runners at the moment. Erin Wallace is useful too when she isn't doing pacemaking for the others.

Keely's glutes are much larger than her competitors = more speed when it's needed. Going to be one of the best in the world ever.

What a poor quality race!... They run the distance outside the 28 minutes... And the world record stand at 26 minutes and 11 seconds... Meaning that the Ugandan runner , Joshua Chepteguei would have beaten this field for one minute, 49 seconds, or for about 775 metres... Almost two laps, shameful... Joe Biden would run faster than that!

The female version of Seb Coe, every now and then a world beater is born, let's hope she gets the (much contested) world record soon

Not the best comparison- Coe was an excellent athlete, but a bit of a self serving wally. Keely is wonderful.

For fun I put it on 2X speed and the winner won in roughly 6:21 and then put it on 1/4 speed and the winner won in roughly 50:52😁👍.

What a brilliant run and way to win there by our very own heroine Beatrice Chebet. She's arguably unbelievably amazing and unbeatable in distant running ! I'm fully convinced that she will continue to do exploits, to break more world records and the best is yet to come .Keep going Beatrice Chebet

You can see right at the beginning of the racy Keely was not feeling well. You can see it in her face. She'd only made the decision to run minutes before and just about managed to hang on.
