Some of this stuff is reactionary to business owners complaints of rising crime. I don’t think the Wizards and Caps moving is directly tied to crime but it certainly was thrown out there in all of the discourse. IMO round the time of Anthony Williams run as mayor the city began to prioritize “high end” residents a lot more. Moderate to low income housing was rebuilt into high end luxury apartments etc…. They are trying to hold on to vision of DC becoming Manhattan/Wall Street

I’m very disappointed in Wes Moore and the bill he signed in Maryland, especially being someone who was raised in an urban city and made many mistakes when he was young. I wonder if his allegiance to his political role has increased his desire to be in closer proximity and/or aligned with whiteness. Deplorable.
