For those thinking this was unsportsmanlike or cheating or that the umpire sucks, this is completely fine. The umpire called before the ball even went out that it was illegal and thus the point is replayed. Nothing was unfair about this because for the umpire they wanted to call an illegal serve without knowing if it would actually hit the table or not. Sure he could’ve given the next point but it’s not unsportsmanlike to replay a point that was called to be done so.

Dissing truls or the umpire for this isn't right i agree but I don't think umpire's call had any influnce on Truls missing that serve. Yeah I might not be understanding the rules but for Liam, this is for sure unfair situation he should have gotten the point 99%, but this kind of unexpected incident occurs. unlucky

I am rewatching this and this is even worse for Truls. The serve was indeed not thrown vertical and the umpire's call was right. That even makes it worse for Truls. Two things are right in this video 1. Liam should have gotten the point and would have gotten the point 99% of the time. Literally all the time unless the umpire doesn't make a call like in this video. So it is natural for Liam to feel confused and unfair. I really like Truls but for me it seems like he cleverly used the situation. and it is natural for Truls to do that too 2. The umpire's call that Truls serve was fault was right

@@PraisePrayPeace i don’t think truls cleverly used this situation since it’s not like he purposefully changed the serve to make it illegal since he knew it would go out, it was just poor timing for Liam and I do agree that 99% he gets the point but sometimes these random things happen, it’s like when a ball hits the net or edge when you’re in a position where they can’t win the point, sometimes we get unlucky.

The reffery is right. The rule is that the ball should travel vertically at least 15cm from the spot where it just left the hand. In the fault ball the ball not only was not vertically (or almost vertically) but it hardly went up 10 cm

As a good ref you should treat both players equal. The Services of Felix were also false. Sometimes hidden. But that's a General problem in Profi tabletennis.

Moregrad does not toss the ball high enough and he throws it back towards the bat - completely illegal. At 2:13 the point should've been awarded to Felix instead of just calling let.
