If RVs didn't have so many restrictions, Chinese manufacturers would put all US companies out of business in just a couple of years..RVs and campers in the US market should be absolutely bulletproof by now..roof materials and easy cheap membranes that should make roof leaks a thing of the past.. but no. Plumbing..w pex and other fittings to plumb even a large rig can't be more than 90 minutes tops. And lots of hardware has ceramic possibilities so your recreational vehicle should be ready for you for 15-30 years without any major issues..same w switches, outlets and LED lighting, RV owners should be surprised when something fails.. not reality, entire industry is rushing to the bottom. And as banks tighten up, manufacturers have to get everything cheaper if they want to sell,cash crowd is smaller and more cautious and the financing folks are being told no more often by the banks and other lenders.. and dropping prices makes sense because lots of insurance carriers only care about what it costs when calculating your premium.. ain't nobody getting replacement value

Just got my notice in the mail today. I have a 1997 and if I don't change the engine DMV will not renew my registration because I do not have a DPF filter. So if you have a Diesel pusher they are coming for you. If yo have a pre 2008 and take the test you WILL fail. All this retirees with RV's in their drive ways that are over 14,000 GVW are going to get fines and headaches.

Hi there HBRV! KZbin suggested your channel, so i thought id drop by. I own a 2017 RPOD 182G, the G being the 'garage' in the back. Ive had it since 2019, and I live in it from May to October in the Yukon Territory, northern Canada. Ive put this trailer through hell and back, and overall, its been.... ok. Ive had a list of failures; some expected, a few unacceptable. Ill note Im a Red Seal Automotive Service Tech, so i definitely know my way around these things. This RPod is the tenth or so RV ive lived in full time over the years. So far - -The invertor failed last year, circuit board failure - and its too damned expensive to replace, so i just run an auto battery charger, -The furnace had a circuit board failure - had it gone over and rebuilt at an RV shop, -The wiring has a circuit breaker/junction set exposed on the bottom of the RV which is corroding, -The wiring for the trailer harness was done with Scotch locks and set in FRONT of the axle; stupid move for an 'off road package' as the first trip up a gravel highway sandblasted it off; I rewired this completely with double sheathing and strapped behind the axle; -The front sewer pipe was likewise also destroyed by the same trip; as such i installed four heavy truck mudflaps on the front frame crossmember which stopped this nonsense; -The torsion axle has *BENT*, causing the inner shoulders of the tires to scrub badly; if i can come up with the funds im going to scrap the torsion axle for leaf spring setup that can be repaired on top of gravel highways thousands of miles from RV shops; -Lots of minor trim crap failing - ie, the man door latch fell apart, the bathroom vent power fan died, the fold up steel stairs have ripped off the frame, all three beds are poorly built, the foam cushions are *PATHETIC* , that sort of thing. Now, Ive also done a fair bit of modding myself. Since i use the lower rear bunk as a permanent bed, i reframed both to strengthen the bed and the upper bunk, turning the latter into storage. I also built a second shelf above the dining table area; someone else here on YT did the same thing. As i said I installed four mudflaps along the front frame to cut down on sandblasting, as well as upgraded the trailer brake wiring, putting it behind the axle with looming instead of hanging in the front and open. Sadly, for the amount Im paying for it, i agree with you - the damned thing is massively overpriced for what you get. Unfortunately, that seems to just be the RV world thing.

After learning about the Pebble travel trailer, I can't imagine how it must be on so many of these manufacturers. Between all the attacks on quality and engineering on them and then something like the Pebble coming to market...if nothing else it sure displays the "old school" and troubled market. I'm not affiliated with anybody for anything. I own a 2021 Grand Design travel trailer and compared to the Pebble - in any aspect - there is no comparison. Wish I add a magic wand.

Not a 2022.. Grand Design 2022 interior is lighter and exterior graphics have a cleaner font; That there looks to be a 2021 or even earlier: I’m a previous owner of Forest River; and the only decent comparison to Grand Design is Flagstaff / Rockwood which you mention. Forest River customer service sucks as most of their TT’s… Grand Design customer service is above & beyond and the fit & finish!

Just camped over the weekend at San Gorgonio and brought my kids to fish at Jenk’s lake. Using a small fishing pole and worms, they caught several bluegill (released them). What fun!! Thanks for saving Jenks Lake. Stopped to eat at Soup n Fresh in Rancho Cucamonga (exact replica of a Soup Plantation) on the way back to LA. A perfect summer weekend getaway!!
