My friend had one in second grade (the 9V) and I got one in third grade, the 6v Jet Turbo. This thing was awesome, but what they never showed in the commercials was the antenna whipping around during spins - I got myself in the leg a few times as a kid and then the antenna later broke entirely when it hit a table leg at high speed. Memories.

Had one of these ages ages ago and although it looked amazing in the catalogue it was a pain to actually play with it. It was only good to drive straight and spin in a spot on a flat surfaces... Turning with this thing was awful...
@everythingrc65042 жыл бұрын
Its quite rewarding tho once you get the hang of it! The trick to driving them, you can just let off throttle on the side you want it to turn towards. Also you can coast then throttle up the opposite side you want to turn. It sounds simple enough but there is a learning curve and is super fun once you get a hang of it. Hobbygrade electrics adds even more fun

@everythingrc65043 жыл бұрын
Well parts wise roughly - servo $15, esc $20, radio/receiver $50-100. You can shop around and find stuff cheaper or use leftovers from the rc junk drawer 😃

So I just came across this, I found my Scorcher from when I first owned it (yeah all the way back in '94), and was wondering if you could go into what modifications you made to the custom? Im debating on moving away from the tank controls, possibly re-enforcing the frame (I was pretty rough on it as a kid, and those nice chrome wheels don't stand up to impact as well as the body does). Any advice would be stellar!
@everythingrc65043 жыл бұрын
I changed the electronics to hobby grade, basically consisting of: 2 esc’s, lipo battery & receiver/radio system. If you get a decent radio that allows mixing of multiple channels, it can do what you’re asking. I had it on a Flysky FS-IT4S , lets it drive like a normal vehicle and still do 360s

I should have the yellow one in a box somwhere.....is there a way to restore them to working order?
@everythingrc65043 жыл бұрын
I’d Start with fresh batteries, check/clean the metal tabs the batteries contact. They are usually dirty or corroded. Make sure antennas are attached and not broken. Good luck!
