Taking into account that 165hz on an LCD can only deliver the sensation of an 85hz CRT, you would only be able to replicate such fluidity on a 1mhz LCD with a delay in the ns range.

seems like the LCD sensation you're describing is less ghosting/blurring, that could be part of why CRT's look so smooth

no mod needed for doublespeeds - it were the driver under dos which has it slowed down to single speed with OS/2 it was constant over 300KB - seen it by such like PC-Titles just like Mad Dog Mc Cree under IBM OS

Best CRT monitor for PC I had back in the day was a 17" Lite-on, don't remember the model but man it was really nice and pretty cheap, the colour reproduction was perfect. Pretty sure they had Sony tubes in them. A mate of mine had a 17" Philips Lightframe, again don't remember the model. It was pretty nice but not for every game if lightframe was on. For desktop use it was best to have lightframe off.

This video tells nothing. The best CRTs are well known and there are just 4 of them: Mitsubishi 2070SB/Lacie Electron Blue IV Sony F520 Iiyama 514 Sony FW900 (only if you absolutely need that widescreen 16:10 aspect) Any other CRT not listed here is not THE best.

If you have a motherboard with a VGA port built in and if you have an iGPU on your CPU, then you can try the hybrid graphics mode that laptops use. Your dedicated GPU renders the frames and passes it to the iGPU for the display output. It should in theory be much more compatible with a CRT.

While I generally prefer larger screens, like 40” and up, that refresh rate is tempting. Tbh never thought seriously of running a CRT on a modern system, even though I’ve seen someone on another channel do it. But I did consider it as a temporary solution but couldn’t find any in my price range so ended up with a 1366x768 19” LCD, which is somewhat annoying but at least lets me use my system while I save up for another big TV. Just subbed btw. Keep up the good work.

Given the fact that all of the good VMM2322 adapters are sold was a OSSC Pro scaler be a good substitute as a DAC? It has HDMI In and can output VGA.

It seems you aren't using warm (6500k) color temperature preset. You should, it's more more close to the reference. Once you get used you won't ever come back to cool, unrealistic color temperature. Better for your eyes also ;)

Great video however it still doesn`t answer the main question, where to buy such adapter? all mentioned ones in the posts are already unavailable, which doesn`t make it easier ;), it looks like they have sold out all valuable stuff already and there is nothing left at least I couldn`t find any of them currently available. If anyone know where to get them at the present day pls let me know :) Thanks a lot in advance :)

Trying playing Games like Read Dead redemption 2 and Call of duty Warzone on 1024x768p @162hz A question, what happens if you set the horizontal and vertical resolution the same? Like 1000x1000
@AugustoV8Cesar
@AugustoV8Cesar 2 ай бұрын
No1 can Properly use windows 10/11 at Very Low Resolution, The lowest you should go is 1024x768p. (You won't be able to see everything in the applications, such as Steam, some options will be cuted out, you will need to change the resolution back to at least 1024x768p.) BTW running games on that low Resolution gives a huge performance boost and 250~500hz is impressive..
