Notice how Ace talked about how great he was with both hands and then Herod puts a hole in both hands also showing his ambidexterity?

That’s okay, Ace is actually a hyperdyne systems synthetic and will eventually join the crew of the Sulaco…after getting a haircut. 😂

This movie is terrible, but wonderfully so. If it’s on TV while I’m flipping through channels, I’ll always stop to watch it from that point.

Ok, but like after disarming him, that would have been considered cowardly, evil, and a straight up murder. You can argue that nobody would challenge him on that fact except there are several recorded instances of a duel being ended by a sherrif or marshal arresting the winner for being "unsportsman"

The expression, " The Quick and the Dead" is from the Bible. Also, the name, "Herod" is used...he was a very cruel and brutal King of Israel! Notice how this Film had "religious" implications in it? Crow was a Preacher...who had been in charge of an orphanage somewhere. And of course, the "Good" prevails over the "Evil"...in the end! Am I seeing this right, or am I hallucinating???

This guy was so terrifying that people forgot to cheer when he killed Ace because they were hoping Ace was just as good as he bragged he was but turned out to be false.

So cliche. Een the music. :)) Sad....since thy had an all-star cast. Should hae gotten Clint Eastwood to direct it. :)) Though, if he took over he would have had the script re-wreitten. :) Better weterns from the 90's....Unforgiven, Tombstone, Silverado, Young Guns 1 & 2.....but the "best" were still fro the 70's nd i thin the 60's? ...All the Eastwood spagehetti westerns....when was High Noon done? 60's?? :) Only minor nitpick I have on al westerns is how they're all done for "entertainment sake"....e.g. they have the characters at "showdowns"...in most films...standing out in the open and square. Things that would get someone killed. Not "tacically smart"....wonder if "Olde West" gunfighers also soot d square/in the open....or stood "side profile"--less of a target....hasrd to stare only into another mans gun barrel....and focus ...heh..disconcerting to say the least...heh... Love to see Hollywood do another western SOON....smarter approach...ask Eastwood while they still can.....not sure if he's still working...or wants to...

This is the first time Herod's skill with the iron is shown in the movie, and it's done flawlessly. Every movement drips with confidence and being at ease in such a tense situation. I love how he goaded Ace with the lit match into a left handed draw, knowing that Ace wouldn't stand a chance against a real ambidextrous gunfighter. Ace's bragging about his skill was an affront to Herod, so he humiliated him and then killed him.

Find it funny a bit. He has 6 shots per gun they could have waited for him to shoot all 12 bullets then all rushed to kill him if the were so tormented by him.

this could have been such a good movie...it had all the makings and real star power...but the ending with all the explosions that would have taken more gasoline than was on the planet at that time was just ridiculous. Whoever wrote the screenplay really had a brain fart at the end.

I like the sound effect of Gene flicking the match. Good old Gene, he's in his mid 90's now.
