Pretty dumb move drilling toward your hand like that.

My main complaint, is if you've ever used a hammer, a round handle shaft can allow the hammer to spin in your hand. It should be more oval shaped, with the narrow parts pointing up and down, inline with the head. Everything else is great, even the rest of the handle is cool... just the cylindrical shape is not as efficient to use.

Instead of soaking in a electro salt for hours on end wouldn't it be better to buff the hammer head like we saw with the angle grinder first, I'm not mocking the video just trying to jump the gun

Um, you need a bigger knife. I have a knife like that, my Grandfather made it from a lumber saw blade Classic... I subbed

Too bad you didn’t take the extra few seconds to align the wedge with the hammer head direction. Other that that, it is a great restoration.

Thank you I have an old one that’s needs to be restored. I do lemons every morning. I’ll squeeze the bag n refrigerate n freeze. That will give me the time to restore it. I found another gentleman that used food grade grease in the teeth. Thank you and God bless you

I recently cleaned up an old colonial belt axe head I found metal detecting. I used vinegar, it took all the rust off, it left a nice pinta on the axe.

Hmmm, looks exactly like the one on eBay right now for $450. "Pristine Condition. This is NOT a restored juicer!!!" Looked restored to me as soon as I saw it. :D Excellent video. I just got my mom's Juice-o-mat. Later model 462-C. Remember this from my childhood in California in the late 50's, early 60's.

All those iron fimhs on the wood? Pure waste! Ans then the lathe! You could have doen that with any block of iron, Get a blacksmith to save what is there, and let it getit hardened, too. Don't destroy an antique someone else made long bedore you were born and spent all that money on useless machines for this job. Take a course on how to work iron: far cheaper.

My mother-in-law gave me the same juicer in the box! She received it as a wedding present. Mine is not painted but has a chrome finish. She always used frozen juice and having 9 kids I think that was the easier option. I use it often, when I find small orange are on sale. Large ones are hard to process, the navel oranges have thick peels also making it difficult. I did grease it with a food grade lub made for kitchen tools. Thank you for the video, I found it very helpful. I will get my dremil out for a deep clean and lub next time.
I appreciate these kind words. I’m honoured that you like my work

Would this axe head been more valuable history wise in it's cleaned original condition before grinding it all away?
@StevensFix3 ай бұрын
No. It was in the scrap metal/junk pile of a metal detectorist. It would have been either thrown away or sold at scrap. Like this, I have a beautiful axe. 🙏🏻

Great job!!!! So I recently aquired one and would likento restore as well for use. Im having a difficult time confirming what material the cup and cone are made of. I am assuming cast aluminum. Is this correct? I asl be asue cast aluminum commonly had lead in it amd my son is itching to use it. What are your thoughts?
@StevensFix3 ай бұрын
It is cast aluminum. It probably doesn’t have lead but if you’re concerned there are lead testing kits you can get where you rub the item with a marker like device and if it changes colour it has lead.
