Just multiply both sides by the sum of the roots of 14 and 13 and also by the sum of the roots of 13 and 12, and the answer is pretty obvious.

You know there are 3 roots. It's obvious that one is 2 at an angle of zero. The others are equidistant around a circle in the real/imaginary plane. 360/3=120 degrees apart. solve for sine and cosine to get the imaginary and real parts.

You could also write 1 as log10 then Write Log[2x^2 -1] = log[10(1/2-x/10)] Then 2x^2-1=5-x And then solve for x

2:28 Wouldn't you go by the order of operations by adding first? Like m - (m + m) = 1 and (m + - m) - (-m) = -m?

easy. Multiple either part of the LHS by its conjugate. Then solve the binomial. Take the log of both sides and divide. x = +/- 2.

The roots of this equation are incredibly symetrical. Writing x=e^(iy) yields all 3 solutions almost immediately, and exposes the cool symmetry which one otherwise misses.

Sir how will I realise that the + m needs to be split as -4m and +5m ?
@mathwithmershscore
@mathwithmershscore 5 ай бұрын
One of the two numbers must be a number that can divide the constant term. In this case, the constant term was -10. You realize that the 5 from the 5m can divide the -10.

You are being fooled with this nonsense! This method only works if you know the solution in advance. You need to split a number like 30 into two numbers x and y, such that x + y = 30 and 3^x = y (ie. 3 +27 = 30 and 3^x = 27), where x must be the solution you are trying to calculate. In other words, you need the solution of the problem in order to successfully follow the last steps. For example, if you try to solve 3^x + x = 40, you just need to split 40 into 3.279887… (the solution to the exercise!) and 36.72011..., both irrational numbers (infinite decimals), since 3.279887… + 36.72011... = 40 and 3^3.279887… = 36.72011... Brilliant method!

This is a grammar question not a math question for which it has no answer. You generated an algebra equation from your interpretation of the question for which you correctly solved but it still doesn’t tell us how much the pen really is. Poorly worded and ultimately not real world practical.
