Thank you for the video, picking up my new A6 black edition today and this was the one thing that annoyed my wife (and myself). Will install these when the parts arrives. Thank you for the video, once installed I’ll be sure to buy you a coffee 👍

This video is excellent and have just received the part! I have one question - the smaller screws I received are still too big to fit the holes at the front of the armrest. Did you have to pre screw/drill the holes to make them bigger for the screws?

the mount point on the plastic just has pilot punch mark ready for the self tapping screws. You could use a 1 -2mm drill to make it easier to screw these in but i didn’t. Send a photo of what you mean if that doesn’t make sense 👍

3:20 in the video, these flat head screws?

@localdmc Ah ok so I just put a bit of elbow grease into it and force the screws into the holes? I got 4 screws (2 small and 2 bigger) and all are flat head screws so I was thinking the smaller ones should've been pointed screws to break through the mounting point but I'll just put some force behind it this time I guess.

@@nellser 2 should be self tapping (pointed) if not i’d just buy a small pack. Two were threaded, and i had two others which i didn’t use

@localdmc you are an absolute gent with the replies, very much appreciated. I'll grab myself a pack of the self tapping screws. Thanks again!

would you say 2015 F80 m3 RDC module is located in this same area?? I changed 3 tpms sensors and I swear its the module and not the sensors anymore... sighhh

I found this which seems to confirm it’s in the same place f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1785442. Check from inside the boot too, in the video 7:47. You can see the module plastic retainer

I’ve got the same issue but on a 2014 420i x-drive, is the module located in the same place?
@localdmc

I’m not sure on the 420i, easiest way to do a very crude check is in the boot. If you can see the two plastic retainers from the RDC module here (7:47 in the video)

yeah I’ll have a look later and I suppose if I can’t see it there I could always call up BMW. Great video though I wish more people went into detail when changing over parts

Thanks for the video, I have 1 problem with my audi, the cup holder is not closing it works but when i push it it's not staying close. Any suggestion?
@localdmc

It’s spring loaded with a latch underneath to keep it closed, so i’d say remove it (reverse of the video) just case something is broken or trapped underneath. Test if it works out of the arm rest. First off just try loosening the two screws under the cup holder rubber mats to see if they are too tight.

Thank you so much for the video. There was nowhere to find this for the new Audi.
