I’m there

I learned about this sad state of affairs just this week and I confess, my heart and spirit are in turmoil. As a pastor in the community, I stand wholeheartedly with Elijah and his family and with all those in Richmond County who knows that the only way forward is to include all of us, as long as we are not killing, maiming, hurting, destroying each other or our earth (we all know there is a special facility for that population). For someone to be caring, kind, loving, and lovable to be devalued and totally discounted as if he’s invisible in this way, yes, Commissioner Grooms, you are sick. I’m calling on ministers of the gospel of love and welcome that Jesus taught and pastors who have been charged with this responsibility, to join the march on July 2, 3:00 p.m. Stand for peace. Stand for acceptance. Stand for freedom. Stand for justice. Most importantly, stand for love. This young person, Elijah (known by many as Erica), deserves it. They are depending on us.

I was not aware of this situation before now. It breaks my heart. Elected leaders. Parents. Such hatred. And I’m sure many will identify as Christian. When we consider the suicides among our teens, and the hatred from the world, how can we be this cruel towards any of God’s Family! We all bleed the same by Mandisa. Listen to this song, people. We have way more serious issues and tragedies than a person’s sexuality. I commend you Elijah and support you Mom!

I hope commissioners take citizen comments seriously. We need better for ALL, not just some. There are a lot of church going people here, but what difference is it making?
