last year i lost one of my closest friends, my bandmate. I was learning this song during and i just needed something to make me feel for a second, i messaged Matt to help me learn the chord progression in the verses and he sent me a tutorial video....he sent me a VIDEO. ive been listening to him since lk 2004, and for him to take the time to do that....hard to put into words. All i have to say is thank you Matt for being there through one of my roughest times and not even realizing it, just doing it out of the kindness of your heart.

Hey Matt loving this stuff. Are you planing on doing an album under this concept? Because i actually love it. Feels like a bushmans version of that guy with the paint tin drums you find in every town improvising music on random things he has collected. Which i can never seem to not stop and vibe with.

Hey Matt, just know that despite this song (and album) never being 'mainstream'. This song has always emotionally touched a lot of people, including me, on a personal level. I've loved this song since the start of my teenage years and it has always resonated with me. I always find myself coming back to this song on my lows. Despite the changes and phases of life. Your music is just really awesome man, just keep up the good stuff. 👑

My girlfriend recently bought me the record on vinyl. I was born in 2006, but still this record has a lot of nostalgia for me. Just loved this song so much as a kid, thanks matt

Giddy about the possibilities where this could be headed… zero clue about the creative possibilities for volume 2 but I’m invested 👍🏻

Competent; but the ultra-faithful transliteration adds nothing to the original, nor shews an alternative gloss on it.

One of the most memorable shows of my life happened in Burlington, VT. I think it was 2006 or so and there was an absolute blizzard outside. Matt still came and played for all of us that braved the weather, and we celebrated like family. I think Matt may have even tossed a snowball or two at us! This song always takes me back to that night! Incredible.

I remember when this song came out. Songs We Swing and Unfamiliar Faces were on repeat for months at my house. I probably drove my family nuts with them. They were my first dabble into what you might call indie/folk. All these years later I still love that sound and when I come back to these albums they're just as great as ever. Thanks for sharing them, Matt

First time hearings this one and it’s timeless and dreamy as ever. This beautiful tune fills the room as stand here drinking coffee early on a Tuesday morning. My 1 year old boy walks over to me, wraps both arms around my knee and gives me the longest hug just as the chorus chimes in. I bend over at the hip and embrace him back until he wants to lets go. It was like a moment in time that was meant to be. One love my fellow humans. Let love heal. Thanks for all the great tunes over the years Matt. 💪🙌☝️❤️

Wow the mid to late 2000s nostalgia ended up being a lot stronger than I anticipated. The innocence in tech innovation, the Wild West of the internet and this hipster vibe in media. Miss it.

I LOVE IT. I was trying to pin down what the riff reminded me of and it’s the Peter Paul and Mary version of Bob Dylan’s Don’t think twice, it’s alright. This song is gorgeous. Mahalo from Lahaina Maui♥️

I love this song. Back in the middle of 00's, I had a pneumotorax and had ended a relationship like an year and I half ago and was far from overcoming from this. After the surgery and lots of constant pain, I finally went home and would listen to this song for days in a roll. It was a really hard time, and what happens to those songs is that, generally, you end up getting sick of it, but I still can listen to it tenderly, because is still lifts me up. Thank you for this! It's good to be alive and fine after all this.
