@@starbrine2020 I went through the shorts right now, but using the higher version of Blender and everything works fine. You missed a step or maybe you had something else in mind to get at the end - but if that was the case you need to experiment with the settings and build up more to it. btw were you applying the bloom to existing project that you have been working on? test things on the fresh blender file. Maybe you have some settings enabled that are messing up your final results.

@@3d.errorist no, I did try it on a new file just to see if it worked. I suppose I did expect to have a better bloom than the one the export gets. tbh I just want a bloom that looks exactly like the render viewport

Nice!! You know me and making glowing elements, especially eyes. I imagine you could make two eyes and apply this to each one of them, yeah? I’d like the glow to affect the rest of the model appropriately. Seems like I could duplicate the nodes per eye but maybe there’s a way to use the same node structure and tie in both eyes into a group? I have no idea, you know how novice I am with Blender.
@3d.erroristАй бұрын
Yes! I like what they are doing inside The Witcher with the eyes after drinking a potion. It’s maybe not that glowy (Im not talking now about his black eyes ;p), but it looks so cool. And yup! The created material you can assign to any other model or area of the model. You only need to keep in mind that in case you want to adjust the material for only one of the models that have this material assigned - you should first hit “copy”. Very easy :) I would love to see your work in Blender. You should show guys what you did with the construction area! Im sure they will love it 😏

Nice presentation. Be better if you could tell us all how not to make 6 metre long bolts though!
@3d.errorist6 ай бұрын
Tell us, or tell you? Because it sounds like something you would want to see ;) For many other users, it could be obvious that you can simply scale any object, or use the measurement settings and decrease the specific input field. I can't be going in one minute through each bolt and showing how to make it smaller 🤷🏻♂ It's a great add-on if you need something quick for your project, so I would definitely recommend 🙃
@jeffellis11494 ай бұрын
@@3d.errorist Hi and thankyou for the reply. Please excuse the delay, been a bit busy. I think maybe I should have been a little more descriptive! The settings can be divided by 1000 for an M6 bolt straight from the addon menu until I get to the pitch value which is minimum 100mm which obviously won't work for 6mm and produces a really odd looking object. The only way is create, divide by 1000. Bit of a faff in the middle of drawing for every different bolt though. Blender units might work but I work in mm. To be fair it's not the only add-on that sticks to whole metres when mm is selected in scene properties - Snap Utilities Line for instance, so I guess it's something in Blender rather than the add-ons. Funny really, you'd think as Blender originated in the Netherlands and the only countries that are left using imperial are US and Sri Lanka that mm would work properly but to be fair I'm using Blender for design when it's really oriented toward art so maybe the team aren't really that worried about dimensions as such? There are several hints in the UI toward that conclusion. For my design purposes I only need to know the size of the bolt that works so in the end I used the heads and nuts from the add-on to save a bit of modelling and made an asset library of what I needed with just cylinders for shafts. No threads mean easily adjustable and little unnecessary geometry. A lot faster to use. I made M2 to M12 bolts but mostly use M5, M6 and M8. Drag, drop, done. Btw - not a complaint! I'm in total awe of Blender, the addon makers and of course those who share their experience in tutorials. And thankyou again for your time. I make the odd little tutorial every so often to do my bit so I appreciate the effort put into even short ones like mine.
@jeffellis11494 ай бұрын
Sorted the problem - me! I randomly watched another tutorial with the answer to the scale problem. Not seen it explained like that before. I have mm set in scene > units but apparently, for this setting, scale and the grid needs to be set at 0.001. Works fine now!
