I used to live in Wisconsin and frequented Chicago. I really liked it. One big detractor are all of those so call novelty taxes. Fast Food, Sugary Drinks, water.... Get real.

I'm a New Yorker and have been to Chicago once and loved it so much ! I plan on moving in the next few months. I work in finance. And hear there are many business and employment opportunities in chicago. NY is too crowded but I need to still feel busy and lively so Chicago here I come!!!

Higher tax, high crime, blue state, terrible mayors , very cold winter, terrible traffic, & high insurance cost. Chicago is a clone of NY on a smaller scale 7 reason why I want to move outout

MOVE OUT!! I live here and it’s was once an amazing city but rent is too high, crime is awful, police won’t come when you call, the taxes are extremely high, they keep voting blue for some reason, the gun laws are bad, littered with migrants and tents in our beautiful parks, only good thing is they have good food spots

@ HISTORICALLY, the left of today is NOT even comparable to the left of the past that’s responsible for the history you’re citing. I’ve been a democrat for the entirety of my life until this year. The left of the past believed in borders, the left of the past had effective investment of our infrastructure, social services, and education. Their recent green energy ineffective policies are crushing our economy and affecting the job growth rate as per the numbers recently released (Even though they’ll buy our energy from more polluted nations). The New Democratic Party seems to allocate more money to illegal migrants than our own tax paying citizens who are struggling due to their incompetence (you see it all the time here in Chicago)! Their infrastructure law has done virtually nothing when it comes to supplying electric cables to more rural areas when they could’ve easily contracted starlink for that and save Billions! The New Democratic Party praises warmongers like the Cheneys (which I condemn the bush/ Cheney administration completely like most Americans who lived through those times). The New Democratic Party, kicks out their incumbent candidate and didn’t even give THE PEOPLE a chance to vote. I don’t understand how you don’t see this. We cannot keep going this route. Screw the party! I care about my country!

It's hardly an undersupply; There's loads and loads of empty houses being held by investors to be used to preserve wealth and/or use to get loans against. I noticed the empty home problem when I was looking to buy last year. These houses were sitting empty and unsold for 100+ days, some of them are still empty. With that said, supply will not increase because investors lobby to keep the supply artificially low to preserve their wealth. The average American homeowner (non investor) won't complain about this because they benefit from this.

Don’t wait for anything just cut your own deal and then wait if you can’t make one. Don’t listen to guys like this or anyone else you are on your own like always. Put down a real down payment instead of getting buried. Buyers used to have to be qualified now every bum on the planet thinks they are entitled to a home,

We love to see it. An overwhelming majority of these violent crimes take place in specific neighborhoods and submarkets as well. The media tends to blow it way out of proportion as they do with all things.
