Did the WWF ring not arrive? That looks like a local CWF ring. I know the Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto continued to use the NWA style ring all the way to the Fall of 1985.

I saw him live in miami when i was in 6th grade i don’t remember much but i remember after the match (for some reason i remember goldberg also) hogan was bloodied up and still shaking hands and high fiving the crowd by where i was by

No one in this era was going to be the WWF champion other than Hogan. Patera would continue to be a main event heel until his conviction in August 1985. His babyface run in 1987-88 was what killed his career. Also, there were no big time MMA organizations in the 1980s. MMA wasn't a thing back then. Even if there had been, Patera was in his 40s. Not an ideal age to start in MMA.

Patera was easily good enough in 1980. Intercontinental and Missouri State Champion at the same time.
