Not to say anything negative whatsoever about prior and future generations of the MRD's, but this was hands down the best performance by the MRD's of all time. and yes, I may be partial because I was in it.

+Avery Daugherty If you ask me the number one memory of my MRD career....Macy's Parade would be number 2. This night was the number one greatest memory as an MRD. The video does no justice to show the crowd volume...I remember we couldn't hear the trumpet soloists.

Ah, the MRD... year in, year out the finest anywhere. (class of '84)

Parts of this may be better than the Opera itself ... the sustained spooky part is great...

For a marching band it doesn't get any better than this. Just outstanding. This director is something and arrangement is almost mystical at times. Fabulous.

I was the 50,001th viewer. Can't stop watching this...I remember this night like a few minutes ago. During the ending when we came off the sideline, the crowd was so loud I did not know when to come in. Our energy that night was unforgettable....

@wannaplaytrmptjmu Sweet! I consider us one of the best college bands in the US. We were actually the largest last year, with 475 members
@wannaplaytrmptjmu13 жыл бұрын
@Wacoswim good stuff. I'll probably be playing for them after next year. last year of high school, then drum corp and JMU!!

@wannaplaytrmptjmu13 жыл бұрын
@Wacoswim no, not really. I mean they'd be better than a highschool band yea, but I'm just a loyal jmu fan =)

@balsac88 yea, that was him on the left playing the first solo.

@RABBITBACKER I don't think they would kill them. I say they're about even given the fact that JMU has it's pros and cons, and so does Northwestern state. I think it's kinda hard to compare them, when in the end, marching band in college is about fun. =)

very good sound! i'm pleased, especially with the dynamics. most large bands like this have a hard time control their dynamics, but i loved the way this band controlled their's. i'm impressed! Go Marching Royal Dukes!

Best marching band song to play. EVER. 2006 was an AWESOME year for the MRDs and I'd give just about anything to play this song again like we're doing to Malaguena.
@amoney122615 жыл бұрын
that was so awesome! its hard 2 come by a REALLY good university marching band. This is deff. one of them! And I enjoyed this arrangement of Phantom of the Opera, normally people play the same 'ol boring arrangement. This was awesome though!
