I know this would have been a change from the book, but I had this idea that would have been new, especially for people who had never read the book or seen the miniseries. Imagine that they did not reveal Stan committing suicide to the audience yet and instead had Pennywise show up but disguised as Stan. He would pretend to be him while talking to the Losers and when Rose (the waitress) comes and asks if they enjoyed their meal, she can ask if they will be having six checks or just one. Mike then says it'll be just one in which he'll pay for everything, but then someone says "Wait. Six checks? You mean seven?" Rose doesn't know what they mean since there are six of them at the table. One of them counts each Loser in which Stan is counted last, but Rose doesn't see anyone sitting in the chair claiming it's empty. Saying that the seventh person never arrived. When Rose leaves, all of the Losers stare at Stan. He smiles, his eyes roll up, and he laughs and he slumps in his chair, going under the table. The Losers realize it's Pennywise and all the crazy stuff with the fortune cookies happen.
