I mean if you're in a pinch, but personally I would just get some cat6, 6a, 6e or 5e. Less hassle and better performance. Yes you can make the argument that it's a lot easier because the cables are already ran. But because you are not intending to use the phone line for well, old phones. Then just replace the phone with Ethernet. So unless you have little to no money, Just go with modern Ethernet.

Just so you know. You are supposed to cut the excess wire off after punching it down.

Most homes do not have a receptacle like that. Lots easier ways to figure this out.

I wish he would have cut into the tuna. Seems to me cooking it this long would cook it through instead of having a red center. Also, I’ve never seen an oven that “broils” at 350. Mine broils at 500 and you can’t change that.

I'm confused, how is it broiling at 350? I'm no oven expert but I thought to operate the top coil you set knob on broil and you were just stuck with cooking at around 500.

Yeah. My broil option is either Hi or Low. I don’t even know what temperature the oven reaches.

Technically you only need (2) pairs. Pins 1,2,3,&6. The orange and green pairs in a standard patch cord. Untwisted pair may yield you maybe 10base T standards.
@Ali6359.
@Ali6359. 3 жыл бұрын
Only 2 pairs are used for 10-100BASE-T while gigabit uses all 4 pairs.

The termination was a Nono the green pair and blue was so badly done because the yellow jacket was in the way even though you did at least keep the twist very close to the termination point which is correct also the proximity to power cables in the same box is a violation of code but also a violation of industry standards since the interference coming from AC cable is high Please advice your friends that this is not correct even though it works

Thank you for this follow up info. I agree to have the cables in a seperate terminal box to isolate data cables and prevent interference from the power wires.

Power and network in the same box is a code violation. This needs to be replaced with separate boxes.

PSA: if I remember, CAT3 is pretty slow for internet going only up to 10Mpbs. CAT5, 5e, or 6 are the gigabit capable lines.

No, line voltage is comingled with low voltage wiring. Provide a code complying barrier or put receptacle in a separate box.

How much is the difference between the speed in phone line vs cat6
@fixablethings
@fixablethings 4 жыл бұрын
Hello, Harshvardhan Ruia, in this video, the Cat5e used on the phone line can handle 10/100 Mbps speed at 100Mhz bandwidth while cat6 is 10Gbps at a capacity of 250Mhz so theres a huge difference when compared side by side
@itluis2009

@@fixablethings cat5e is capable of 1000 if done properly and distance
@Ali6359.
@Ali6359. 3 жыл бұрын
If its old telephone cabling (untwisted 2 pair cable), you will only be able to get a reliable connection at 10Mbps, you could do 100Mbps over that cable but only in half duplex operation. Cat5e can handle up to 1000Mbps if the system is terminated properly. Cat6 is designed to do a better job at 1000Mbps operation but its also capable of 10Gbps if the channel lengh is no more than 55m

This is called the swivel technique, it’s just extremely slower then how most people use it. Usually it’s one of the fastest techniques used for bass drum. It’s not swinging heel technique it’s a slow swivel technique, that’s what swivel technique looks like when your first starting to practice it.
