I cannot thank you enough for bringing up the history of our usage of the word "gender"! I was so shocked when people in the church began to utilize the word "gender" in the way that the world does. I think that they have been doing it in innocence. When I, as an older woman, sought to complete my degree at BYU- Provo in 2020, I took a class headed by a professor who was pro-gay rights. He taught us that gender is choice, sex is birth. The church uses the word gender interchangeably with the word sex. They do not mean the same things. In that class, we we also learned about the Fourth Wave of Feminism (current), which states that there is no gender. It is all a societal construct. That was also the opinion of my BYU professor. We need more voices like yours to shine a light in the darkness and to help clear up the confusion. There is great confusion on this issue in the church.

Thank you Lili! I remember 4 years ago reading these sections of the Book of Mormon and felt like I was reading the news! It is so very clear why the Book of Mormon was written for our day. So very thankful to have the true gospel in my life. The gift of discernment we have through the Holy Ghost is such a blessing. God bless you in all you are doing.

Sister I'm live in Argentina. Economy is always bad or worse. I use KZbin to learn to Cook different than we usually did because I wasn't able to buy enough food. Now I'm using card board to make bookshelves. I'm really progressing in a lot of things but I'm in charge of Reading praying and teaching . someday food furniture and housing will be perfect but what important will be that if I lose my family? They need me an I'm grateful that the Lord let me care his children

I love this! I'm glad you are doing a longer presentation divided in two parts. I love listening to you! I've always wondered how the Nephites could go from "righteous" to wicked in such a short time. Are we that fickle today? I wonder!

Thank you for your application of Helaman encouraging the people of Ammon to not break their covenants with women keeping a code of modesty. I was raised in Hawaii where scantily clad men and women adorn the beaches. It was normal and not a big deal in my mind, until I returned after 30 years raising my family in WA to see girls wearing only thongs, which were reserved for strip joints in "my day." 😮 I thought, are these girls trying to entice the boys? Because that is exactly what the message would have been for me as a teenager/young adult.

Hi Sister Anderson, one thought that I had about Pahoran’s response to Moroni is that the reason he was not angry with him is because he KNEW him. How much easier is it to see the personality “quirks” of our brothers and sisters but not be offended by it when we know them and love them? Love within families and Wards and Stakes and communities can do so much in sustaining and supporting one another in our weaknesses and misunderstandings.

I'm so glad to hear I wasn't the only one! My grandmother never taught her mother to clean, so my mother never taught us to clean so I bought Don Aslett's cleaning books. When I first read them, I cried, because it sounded like so much work, but then I got so that I could get it all done while my kids watched Mr. Rogers and another PBS children's show. Also, with my cPTSD, I was almost always so unhappy, so I finally went to an LDS psychotherapist. One of the most comforting things he told me was that my children watching me get better would be helpful to them, and that I wouldn't have permanently damaged them, because of my own weaknesses. So yes, get help, and it will help your children. I have 3 happy grown children, and 5 happy grandchildren, which just thrills me. You are always so wise, Dr. Anderson.

Thank you for speaking so positively about the father of our country!! Our Texas family spent the last few weeks in the New England states and were able to visit George Washington’s headquarters in Cambridge. We were all annoyed that our tour guide kept trying to convince us that George Washington was a greedy, selfish man. It brought to my mind this quote by Ezra Taft Benson: “When one casts doubt about the character of these noble sons of God, I believe he or she will have to answer to the God of heaven for it.” Thanks again for another great episode! 💕

This was just such a beautiful lesson you taught! My husband was active duty NAVY for 22 years and I am so grateful we had that experience of serving our country. I spent many, many holidays, birthdays, and anniversaries alone during those 22 years, but I wouldn’t change a thing. I also wanted to point out Alma 50:30: “Morianton being a man of much passion, therefore he was angry with one of his maid servants, and he fell upon her and beat her much” I thought this is the absolute perfect example of what you were describing. I didn’t hear you mention it, so sorry if you did and I missed it! But, it’s just another perfect comparison of the good vs. evil happening in these chapters.
