Lads, wtf?? More of a death metal guy than black or thrash really, but I went on a bit of a Slayer binge and then I heard that Bathory had a couple of like lofi heavy thrash albums. This shit fucking slaps, it's like death metal but crossover too? I see it gets a lot of flack online, but are they listening to the same album as me? Yes the production isn't great but I think it works in its favour, it's just so fucking DIY sounding and that makes it sound so much more vicious than any super polished and produced albums. It reminds me of Hell Awaits by Slayer because of that lofi production. I might have to go through Bathory's black metal albums now too.. Maybe I should go back and listen to Suffocation's Breeding the Spawn again, another album that gets shat on for poor production, but maybe Im missing something there.

Love the album...since when it was released, but for fucks sake...the long ass intro. Really? Over 3 minutes? I think the spooking turns into annoyance after 30 seconds

Das eindeutig beste BATHORY Album von allen - die davor sind mehr Black Metal von superschnell bis schnell, danach kam eigentlich nur mehr Selbstwiederholung bzw. frech bei Slayer geklaut (alleine Mandatory Suicide wurde fast 1:1 auf einem späten Album eingespielt). Für dieses Meisterwerk: 5/5 Sterne.
