I've actually never played either Xenoblade or any Nintendo RPGs (except Paper Mario). I really love the Xenoblade Chronicles' soundtracks, so maybe I should also start listening to more tracks from other games.

Ok you probably don't like the games but the music is incredible. That's why so many nintendo playlists have multiple Xenoblade tracks in them.

I really should have cut it down, you're right. The version I downloaded had it go on for that long, and I never bothered changing it. I might look into using the KZbin edit feature to trim it a little.

It's true, there isn't nearly as much in those songs, but I think the notes in between the silence still do quite a bit.

(I will admit that the field themes from BOTW are especially sparse, though, so maybe those could have been left out 😅)

Personally I think the lack of music adds to the vibe! There’s something soothing about the peaceful drawn out notes… the serenity makes me want to focus intently. It’s almost meditative if that makes sense? But I can understand that it does stand out in a soundtrack playlist, it definitely caught me off guard to go from TOTK to an upbeat Mario song hahah

I don't understand people like you who criticize the soundtrack from these games just because it's more subtle and calm. Game soundtracks don't always have to be loud and omnipresent to be good, you know?

It was definitely a choice I gave a lot of thought to, but I ultimately thought the vibe of the song was closer to ice than to most of the other forest themes, so I put it in this playlist. I generally like to only use songs that are specifically made for each theme that I'm making a playlist for, but sometimes there will be songs that just really fit the vibe and blend well with the others (my space playlist is a good example, since I used a lot of songs that aren't actually "space" songs).

At first I thought that was Zame’s Lo-Fi remix of the track.

I think it's interesting that the soundtrack is almost always the last thing to be bad. Even if it's an abysmal movie or show, or a game, I always find some music from it that I enjoy.
