I like to finish my sewing by making a simple or double loop knot on a closed stitch, and then passing the needle through the fabric a few inches away from the stitch line; then I pull tight the thread until the knot 'dips' inside the fabric and lastly cut close to the backing height. Thought it was common practice for plush making! 😮

Is it alright to shave it before hand and then use this technique after the fur is glued down to the head? I use to shave it after the fact when I was first making suits, but I kept running into issues when shaving due to all the curves and hard to reach places.
@TeacupLion26 күн бұрын
Yes, I pre-shave fur a bit short and other makers do as well. For the hard to reach places at the end, you can use a dog paw trimmer.
@sylvianimatesАй бұрын
i dont understand why people don't just shave it before attaching it or buy shorter fur
@TeacupLionАй бұрын
Yes, people (and I) do preshave. But it still needs a final smoothing. Especially since shapes change after gluing fur down.
@h.esther9400Ай бұрын
Can you explain what you mean at the beginning when you say to place pins the right way? Do you mean that the pointy tip should be visible while you’re sewing, rather than underneath the fabric? Thanks for making this video series!
@TeacupLionАй бұрын
Notice how I flip the fabric over, the fabric should be flipped so the fabric is less warped on top and easier to control.

@gutssparkleАй бұрын
@ I’m trying to decide between plastic or foam (the ones you pour expanding foam into a mold) bases when I want to make and sell premades! Yeah, I’ll make the plastic/foam myself, but I can’t really spend much time trimming with scissors because I get bad hand cramps! I think foam bases are better for durability and the ease of transport, but plastic bases are firm and probably easier to clean/ better ventilated!

If you came here to write a hate comment, please read this first: Being a furry doesnt make you mentally ill Being a furry doesnt mean you want to be an animal Being a furry doesnt mean you like animals Being a furry doesnt make you attracted to animals Being a furry does not include harm to themselves or others Being a furry is not a fetish And most importantly, being a furry is just a hobby. Sometimes a career. It is a hobby that makes people happy and can make them money. It is just a costume of an animal and you cosplay as the animal. It is really not that serious. Do not tell furries to get off the platform or quit or harm themselves or go seek help. It is very rude. Please just scroll, and have a fantastic rest of your day 🫶
