Everyone else used that yellow foam. And it didn't clean off so easily when it dried. They had to use a chisel 😂😂 I am glad you made this video with the loctite brand. I have a small Ozark Trail cooler that desperately needs mods. It sweats with ice in it. 😂😂😂 So it's not even a real cooler. It won't need much foam at all. I will use the rest in my long-term bushcraft cabin. It's impossible to find perfectly straight beams. Winter's coming in Vermont.

Hey Thanks for sharing this vid. I just did this to my sticks. The only thing that I'm going to add a little piece of webbing where you grab the rope to pull the rope so it will be easier to grab.

Banana's will rase you glucose then it drops. Dropping glucose makes you more hungry. To stay on stand longer eat foods with fats. I always eat breakfast when I hunt full days, bacon and eggs works well. precooked bacon and hard boiled eggs - quick and easy! On stand I may have beef sticks or nuts with an apple. Nice Vlog!

If you finding yourself needing more space thus needing a bigger pack, try the Eberlestock X2 pack and voile straps. It's what I use. It's also modular with molle webbing

I saw a guy do this hack on two identical coolers here on KZbin. The cooler that didn't have the hack kept ice longer. The consensus in the comments that the air is a better insulator than the foam which actually creates a heat sink.

I'm pretty sure he means 58 not 68 what is extremely upsetting because amsteel is very expensive so this is a very informational video however the length of the am still is absolutely incorrect

Great addition to my sticks. I found using a US 6 (4mm) knitting needle to bore out the line and some copper jewelry wire (bent in half to pinch the taper) to pull it through was easier than the larger bore fid shown in the video. Also found a lot of knitting needles are solid and not hollow. ;)

Cool video man. I bought this rod and reel today. Do you have any tips about the drag on this reel or does it even have one? I went out today just to practice casting a bit and found I need to add a little drag to it if possible. Any recommendation would be appreciated. Big thanks from Tennessee🎣

Great video! Not the set up I was hoping for though. I built this and used it this past season. The pack had enough room for 2 small outer garments tops and it lacked any real rigidity. Definitely helped me figure out what I wanted to improve for next year’s setup

Fingers and toes! Yep when you sit in the cold that’s what is hard to keep cold. This is my first season bow hunting (crossbow). I had a perfect setup early one morning in a place I scouted. Sat down on a hill at 6:22. At 6:30 there were 3 doe to my left. I had one at about 25 yards had a perfect shot but my mask caused my scope to fog up. I kept trying to clear it but it wouldn’t. Deer eventually moved on. So now when it’s cold I usually keep that mask down unless I need to warm my face for a bit. I’m 42 this is just my second year but yeah hunting sometimes can be frustrating but it’s never a bad day in the woods.

This is right by my house! You been back out? I took an 8 point December 19th with a crossbow (first bow kill) off there.

Great Video. This is how design engineers start prototyping ideas. I haven't played with mouse traps since i was a kid but there has to be some way to adjust the sensitivity of the trigger. Go a little further with your design and add a microswitch to the trap and you can have a buzzer sound off when it trips. now that would be cool! And yes - frozen fingers might be a problem.... but who cares, its YOUR design. Love it!

You should consider addding keepers down low to reduce friction on your line. Having the line go around that edge will eventually wear a spot in the line

I absolutely could not get the rope to fit over the #10. I found using the looper for the bury worked perfectly. I threaded the looper at the end of the bury (7 inch mark) through the rope where it came out next to the knot. Then hooked in the tapered end and it buried really easily.

Get the One Sticks. Been running them this year (2023) and love them.

Is it possible to just run a square knot at the bottom and slide the hose overtop? Just an idea, instead of trying to splice. Or is splicing a better option?

As someone who’s done very little climbing (I’ve been up some poles and trees as an electrician) I found this video great! I enjoy rope splicing and knitting needles were a great idea! I will say a 1/4-20 bolt isn’t a #20, it has 20 threads per inch. There is also a fine thread 1/4-28. If I were you I’d be buying grade 8 hardware, since you are really putting your life on it. Also Nyloc locking nuts so you know they won’t back off. Really professional build tho, man! Thanks for posting 👍

What diameter coated cable did you use? I want to use the cable because of the stiffness.

What size is the predator pack you are using regular or XL

If you want the step part to be shorter when stored you could put another set of the table bolts farther down the sticks. Then after you pull the aider up got over the top table bolts and back down to the second set. It would pull the loose, "floppy" part of the aider closer to the bottom of the stick.

Just put one of these together...did some DIY sewing and trimming of unused clips and what not...amazing little set up...pack fully loaded with spurs, platform, range finder, ring of steps, rappel rope biner d-ring and madrock, kill kit, saw, headlamp, extra cambuckle and amsteel daisy chain all weighs in just under 12#...12lbs!...with saddle, lineman rope, biner, kong duck, hys strap,heroclip total weight 14#... 14lbs!...pretty sweet and compact...thanks for the video!...awesome job!

What was the size of the needle used to splice?

I just finished doing this to my sticks and love it so far! I followed your video to a T. The step is a little close to the tree and tough to get your foot in sometimes, but I still like it a lot. I’m probably going to do a video on this aider system and link your video in the description to give you the credit you deserve. So you may get a little more traffic on this video soon.
