Hi Larry, question. I added my services and began adding products last night. This morning I see it's listing my products as movies and books and I see I must have created a Merchant Center so it's pulling my products in a different format. I am thinking I will delete this Merchant Center, but wanted to check with you first. Do you have a Merchant Center? Thanks for any help you can give. Appreciate it.

That is unusual. Is your business category setup as a Real Estate Agent? If you have the wrong category that may impact the products and services.

Should work the same depending on how old your iPad is. If you have an older one with and older iOS, it might not work.

Sounds like you are a service-based business. You can use your home to verify the business, but "hide" the address. For service area, only put in the areas you actually service or will drive to. That would likely be your county and maybe a neighboring county if you typically drive there.

Hey Larry, thank you for sharing your Google Business Knowledge. What if you have your mobile number and Google Voice number, which do you recommend using? Also, I'm with eXp so my local (home office) address is not the same as the brokerage's. How do I address this?

Thanks for reaching out. Here is my take: 1- you phone number on Google should match the other citations for you on the web. Like Facebook, Zillow, realtorDOTcom, etc. Also, you CAN have multiple numbers on you GBP. You google voice line is great for advertising in other locations to help you track effectiveness. 2 - I recommend using use your brokerage address so you have an actual location on Google Maps. If you use your home office, there will be a pin on your home on Google Maps. Hope that helps…

I have a brick and mortar brokerage but I don’t go there very much. I’d rather use my home but I don’t want it to show to the public. Is that possible? Also, I have a website and in order to have a website I have to use my brokerage address. Suggestions?

It's tricky... If you want to showup on maps, you have to have an actual address. My advice is to use your brokerage address even if you don't go there very often. That way your address on your Google Business matches the address on your website, Zillow, Realtor.com, and everywhere else. That Name, Address, Phone is important for ranking.

Hi, I have had issues with Video verification. I am seeing that 2-3 min is the sweet spot. Less than 5 for sure. For a realtor that does not have a brick and morter- Using your home office is fine? And what do you need for the video. Street Signs, address outside home, business cards and license with same address? Anything else that has to be in the video? Any guidance is appreciated. I did hear that 3-5 min is the sweet spot for video per Google.

I'm finding that under to minutes is best and have trouble uploading anything longer than that. The main thing that Google wants to see if your street signs, the numbers on the front of the building, using a key to enter is great, and a document of some sorts that shows your business name and address.

So I had my google business verified then suspended. It was based on address. It wanted me to show a bill. I don't have that. What do I do?

Curious... did you use your home address to verify or was it a business address? Use this form to submit a ticket. That SHOULD get you unsuspended. support.google.com/business/gethelp? If not, you may have to start a whole new Google Business Page :(

Hello Larry! Thank you for this awesome video. I have watched the entire series. I have a question for you on adding services. I added 3 services awhile ago, about a year ago. After watching your video on adding services I went in and added a bunch more services. When I was done, there was a notation that "my edit is pending review." I went back in the next day and had a message that said "Services were changed based on feedback from Google users or other sources. Review these published updates to make sure they are accurate." All the new I had added were removed and only the 3 I had put in a year ago were showing. Any thoughts? Frustrating, Lisa

Google is glitchy at times. I have not seen that before with Services. On occasion, Google will recommend changes, but I've yet to see them remove or not publish a service that was added. Maybe try one more time? Were you adding custom services by chance?

That seems to be the normal verification mode these days. The last 5 GBPs I’ve setup required a verification video. The process of doing the video was easy and I staged the items google wanted beforehand. I did have one hiccup with the verification video yesterday where it wound not upload and after 5 attempts (and a half hour wasted) I gave up and put in a support ticket. No word from google yet though. Give the verification video a shot and let me know if it worked!

Street signs (I had to walk fast), the outside of the building and the address on the outside, your business license, any business cards, etc. ideally 2 minutes is what google says it should be. Hard to do all of that in 2 minutes!

Hi, thanks for the awesome video! It was easy to follow! I had a question for you. I started the processes of setting up my profile but half way through I had to leave. When I went back I am unable to get to the setup profile screens. Do you know how I can view it again to edit the details after the initial setup. I want to fix things like areas you serve, service categories, and especially hours of operations because they seem to be a different time zone. Thanks again!

Yes, get into your Google Business Profile management window and click “Edit Profile”. From there you can change all of the business details including device areas, hours, and more. Hope that helps!!
