This was the coldest songs ever!!!! Those instruments blended so beautifully. Our very own Curtis Mayfield did that!!!! We should be celebrating him and Barry White as Master composers!!!! I just love this song! You had to have been a youngster at that time when this movie came out!!!! Like Heaven on Earth to me!! Simply Beautiful! 🥰🥰🥰😊. Masterpiece!!!!!

That closing sample of the mournful solider at the end still strikes with relevance now. a haunting retake of a classic song.

Pure entertainment. The delivery and lyrics are perfect and skewed. Goes well with PJ Harvey's Last Living Rose, and maybe England Shakes as celebratory eulogies.

Here is a fantasy I have: You might know the piece of history that the Moody Blues song "Nights in White Satin" was a 1967 chart miss, but in 1972 a dee-jay put the song on rotation on his late night show, listeners were intrigued by its uniqueness, and that started a snowball effect which culminated in "Nights in White Satin" being a major, surprise 1972-73 hit and a classic track to this day. That is the way I feel about "I Feel Much Better". Very few folks know about this 1967 jewel--not only was the single a miss, but in America The Small Faces were pretty much a miss. Some record spinner could discretely put the song "I Feel Much Better" on their playlist and see what happens. The sound is so unique, the scat lyrics are so ear-catchingly bizarre, and the rocking coda...well, there is no reason why another 1967 miss cannot be a 2025 classic, huh?

If somebody did not notice or understood so far: We are dealing with an epochal, far ahead of it's time and one-of-a-kind masterpiece of MODERN ART here...nothing less. Let alone the filigran production... All the discussion about cultural appropriation (nonsense in my opinion) and about sampling in musical history doesn't really hit the target. If I was forced to rank music productions, this is still my No.1 after all this years.
