When the song first came out, Quincy said that he wrote it during 2x12 and it was heavily inspired by the Hope/Josie “I had a crush on you” scene!!! So maybe not exactly “for” Hosie, but enough that the twitter community considers it to be their anthem!!!

@@randomtiktoks9021 something can be inspired by something without being the full reason behind it. Obviously the song isn’t 100% about Hosie, but Quincy said it was inspired by that scene in 1x12. Hence why he wrote it for Kaylee to sing in the episode and then turned into a real song
