We’re on maybe 1.7 bar peak boost right now making around 250bhp/370nm

@ noooo. This is an MQB EA211 1.4 engine. We custom developed an adapter to fit EA888.3 turbos to this engine. In our case, we used an IS20 turbo

Sounds like air leak on the intake to turbo side. Exact same sound as my brothers RS3.

you can remove the complete intercooler cooling sytem and electric pump. as far as i saw you dont run water cooling on the turbo, right?

If the pipes keeps blowing off make sure you put a bead one the end of the intercooler pipes.

better spark plugs and maybe upgraded ignition coils, if you ever have misfires. But the spark plugs for sure I would recommend! An anti-lift kit can help reduce wheel hop, lighter alloys could help you be a little faster too!

@@Em_Ligman any recommendation on spark plugs ? I’ve already replaced the factory ones around 80k miles but don’t remember what I went with. I know the gap matters also . What gap should I run ? I’ve heard the factory coils are better than most aftermarket ones. What do the R8 coils run ?

Yes, completely stock internals, never opened. I service it every 5K miles, it hasn't skipped a beat with this big turbo setup at this power.

@@danielwoodland9576 around 250bhp and 370nm right now. I would not recommend the RTMG turbos for this platform as I’ve heard so many horror stories of them failing after just a few thousand miles.

Interesting! Maybe you have a much better stock watercooler. I can say we also had a better temperature running both systems. But when i've removed the watercooler and just ran the air-to-air FMIC, we achieved a much bigger drop in temps

Why.. i think the air intake temperature become hot so the last run it's give me 207hp🤦🏻 in 1.6 bar But I'm looking forward to 4 things 1 delete agr and catalyser 2 delete hot water line in the throttle body 3 install WMI kit. 4 decrease the thermostat temperature to 76 C⁰

Hey, no you can go straight for an intercooler setup on your stock turbo, it might help get you a bit more power. But log your current temps first to see if you even need to.

Hello! I liked your project. Here in Brazil I have an Up TSI (ea211 - 3 cylinders 1.0 and we drive with about 240 whp), I currently work at Bertoline Motorsport, my Up had an intercooler for 5 years, I never had any problems and I only sold it because I wanted to change the project. What I noticed is that the sensor for pressurization of the 1.0 TSI and 1.4 TSI is before the TBI and before the Watercooler, after installing the intercooler you need to move this sensor to AFTER the intercooler and before the TBI. I think the parameters will improve because the air gets colder after passing through the intercooler, unlike if you leave the sensor before the TBI. The temperature difference is VERY different. Good luck...

Hey man, I’ve ordered the denso ixu27s off your website. When I tried the NGKs, two different sets, they caused my engine to start misfiring, for whatever reason. Any tips for how to prevent that happening with the denso ones? Did you need to adjust the gaps of them at all or was it just plug and play? Cheers mate, been the bane of my life this spark plug malarkey🤣

As for the IXU27 spark plugs, I didn’t adjust the gaps, I just installed them the way the came out of the box 😎

@@Em_Ligmannice one about the spark plugs. As for the ignition coils, there’s potential for it to be them, or anything really such as fuel injectors. Me and my mechanic looked on the obd and I have a couple misfires, literally 1-2, but nothing that’s affecting how the car drives. So first port of call is spark plugs and if they don’t work or don’t solve the misfires, ignition coils will be next, then fuel injectors. Hopefully, it’s just needing new spark plugs. In better news, my proram induction kit is on the way, I’m saving for a cobra cat-back and will be getting it mapped up to 160 for my birthday👍🏻
