Hello. Thanks for the video. Can you tell me why when I raise the roof, the trunk lid opens and the process stops? There are no errors. I think that some microswitch does not give permission to continue the process. Tomorrow I will check if the live data matches your list.

Hi yes check the list against this one and what doesn’t match is where to look i think it’s the parcel shelf after the boot raises.are you hearing a motor turn or any grinding noises at the flaps.the gears inside are notorious for failing

Or even like you say micro switch might be gone there is two in the boot hinge mechanism I’ve had to push them in a couple of times before and they’ve came back to life

Hi the ones in the bumper?remove the plastic trim (should come off pretty easily) and reveal 2 torx screws once removed the whole unit should come out then half a turn and bulb should come out

I've got a 2008 twintop roof won't go down boot won't open (someone's wired in a boot switch in the ash tray) ( very helpful) Don't get nothing if the roof buttons are pressed, did have 4 broken wires on the hinge fixed those but still nothing. 2 codes B3670-05 pump temperature sensor open or high voltage B1405-01 Ground output circuit high voltage. Anyone any ideas

@@fixstuff5798 Hi thanks for your reply I had a look at it today someone has eaten into the boot switch wire to run it into the ashtray, Na don't work if I pull the fuse yeah do get bongs over 20mph unless I unplug the roof ECU (blue plug)

Well im for try again had it up on a lift remove the belly pan, went in that road. sames to be contacted to the central locking system? /alarm .set alarm double click fob disabled my horn 😮 sometimes i set off the alarm from the inside. Horn starts working again 😂 now won't reboot this way

key for Ford mondeo mk4 was not working suddenly , I changed the batteries but it did not solve the problem. This trick solved the issue. Thanks a lot..cheers.. But why the key stoppped working in first place that I do not know, if someone can share some knowledge on that?

Not sure why they lose program.the story on this one was I went to work locked fine.came out of work and nothing,spent about an hour freeing of lock so I could use key to unlock door lol got home and like you changed battery and still nothing so had to program key as in this video and been fine ever since so not sure it wasn’t the battery as I used original battery to program key and carried on using the original battery

Hi the trunk isn’t opening because the roof has a fault.You need to plug car into diagnostic and get the 15 measuring blocks in the live data for roof to find out which sensor/s isn’t working.i have put up a recent video with the list (roof closed)to check it against.

Hi, Ialso have a faulty roof - I'm hoping you could help diagnose the issue. I've re-wired the full boot loom with a replacement and it started working - however It's started with a new fault - when you press the open button the windows go down and the boot locks and releases at the back - however it doesn't lift to allow the roof to be folded down into the boot ( it looks like it's unlatched ) - which bit opens the boot in reverse ?? Hi do you have a diagnostic that shows the 15 measuring blocks.i put up another video (somehow I didn’t put it on this one)showing these and check your list against that and it should point you in the right direction.sounds like the rear mechanism isn’t doing its thing

I think it's the motor / Rams that lift the boot outwards ( pivoted on the boot catch ) - but not sure which part of the mechanism is responsible for this ( is it the Rams on each side ? ) where you can see the tops abothe the carpet - the ones with 40mm clearance - thanks

@@user-wt6ov4bk5j no it’s the mechanism at boot lock there is a motor in there and 2 switches maybe a sticky micro switch.the rams will need reset to 40mm if you had to manually close roof though

Hi it’s a complete unit I think they only come in one size.the 19 + 22 is for the other design that separates and you can change the bulb only

Press the horn button and listen for the relay clicking in the fuse box. If it clicks, head for the horn and wiggle the connection. Worked for me

Hi it was a Ford part that was fitted if I remember it had a couple of foam pads rather than a full strip around the edge 🤷♂️Ford cutbacks 😂

Hi, did you manage to get it working ? I’m having an issue with my front washer and I’ve checked the fuses, all the connections under the bonnet and I’ve taken the stalk out and checked all the connections. My back washer is still working so I’m assuming it’s not the pump even though the pump doesn’t make a sound when trying my front washer

Hi that was a wiper issue not the pump and it turned out to be a dodgy rain sensor.is there power at the front pump,multimeter or test light will do if it has power and not pumping it will be the pump or maybe even bad connection at pump

Not easy and you need a press. You did the job very well. Your average home mechanic may find some of it difficult.

Thanks.yes a press makes life easy back in the day before I had a press I had a proper old school vice and that pressed in bearings lol not sure if modern day vices are up for the job though.

Hi I think you’re getting mixed up with the different forces within the braking system.Friction happens when the pad touches the braking surface turning kinetic energy into heat energy(Friction).that car lives in a rust belt so a small amount of grease was applied to help the next guy I.e probably me.gripping force at the wheel studs is massive you’ll be fine with a small bit of grease

Hi it was water in the connection at the turbo causing this fuse to blow as I found out six months later when it happened again.not sure about yours if you don’t have one

Hi all. It's July 2024. I'm trying to find the most economical way of replacing the wiper blades both now and in the future. I'm hoping someone on this thread can point me to REFILLS for the wet wiper system. The spray pattern is awesome. Currently seeing full wiper replacements for $50-$100. A little rubber or silicone refill makes way more sense. Holler if you have already solved this issue. fwiw, I own a 2020 Leisure Travel Van (Unity Twin Bed option) on the 2019 Sprinter 3500 chassis. thx

Hi mine also says this but the roof works fine.i changed lock and still says this but what I think it might be is maybe the spring inside because now and again it doesn’t shut right and I need to pull latch back and all is good until I have to do this again

Would you be able to point me where is the trunk lid sensor? I think this is the problem. Thats why reg number lights are on all the time. This sensor is stuck open. This is the reason why roof is not operating. As i mentioned before there is no sound on the speedometer. Not for the roof or indicators. This will be next thing to fix

@@patryk2223 hi was travelling back from holiday but back to the grind today lol.ive put up the wee video with the measuring blocks for roof.there is a couple of different sensors on the trunk lid so you will be able to work out which one by disconnecting each one and look at the diagnostic to see one what changes

@@patryk2223 the boot not closing right will ping on the reg lights.you would need to plug it into a diagnostic to find out what is going on with it.ive got a short video to do with the 15 building blocks that I was supposed to put on this video but somehow missed it out that might help you

@@frundlemud I believe so. You want to support the outer bearing race on the bottom side while pressing the hub in from the top. I'm looking at doing this on my Fiesta ST to save some money. I have the press, but might just have a shop do it to be safe

From what I know, you're never supposed to grease the wheel hub underneath the brake disc. Reason being is when you attach the wheels and screw on the lug nuts, it's the pressure from those lug nuts that cause the rotor to stop spinning in place due to friction. Greasing up the wheel hub removes that friction and at that point the only thing that stops the disc from spinning are those small torx bolts (which are only designed to keep it aligned). If you dont want a second broken torx bolt, dont grease the hub in the future
