there are many incorrect things on this car. it has been lowered. the airboxes on the rear should be black, the lower exhaust surround should be black, the mirrors should be black, the radiator inlet on the front hood should be raw aluminum, the front grill should be in raw aluminum, and the fog lights seem to be missing. everybody is free to do what they like with their car, just be aware that this one has been modified.

Very clean vehicle but for safety and theft reasons, the top needs security like a anti break in metal or plastic top. Seems like it would be really easy to steal.

Beautiful car and well represented Joel. Side note…I believe it is Zebrano wood. I’ve had many of these cars over the last 45 years and the wood is either Zebrano (as in the car you have) or Burled wood. Wish I had room for another car!

Classic vehicle for certain. This era of Mercedes, unfortunately, have become museum pieces... largely due to the shortage of original parts and the shortage of qualified technicians who truly understand these vehicles. I drove a 280 SE 4.5 sedan ('73) in the mid-1980's and it was unbelievable. The 3.5 convertibles and coupes are in a different class.
@boblacks945Ай бұрын
I purchased a 1968 280 SE convertible in 2000. It had been in long-term storage. My expert Mercedes mechanic restored the car for me as a reliable driver. It cost me then about $20,000. Compared to the repair bills on the super cars of today, I think that it is a real bargain. But, maybe the last 25 years have made restoring these cars much more difficult. Mercedes used to have a policy of always having the mechanical parts for their cars available at the dealer. Body parts and rust repair was the real problem for the restorer.

It’s sure is a beautiful masterpiece! What’s the gross weight like on this compare to today’s MB convertible?
@boblacks94528 күн бұрын
@@geothermal7999 The five passenger Mercedes convertibles from the 1960's weighed about 3,500 pounds. Not bad considering that they were quite large cars. No high tech equipment to weigh them down.
