Hi Steve I have been cycling for a while, well I can tell you, start with about a mile or so if you have not done so, then improve by the week of so, come with like minded cyclists who find cycling as their way out to go out, Im sure you got reason too, good start next year 100 miles for Ride London how about this as your motivations, As we are busy people I have been cycling early in the morning or got time in the afternoon just an hour or so, I keep my strava uploaded so I can see my progress, its totally free app, for anyone and I went for some sportive events to keep me on track or force myself to do it. an hour or more will be good but you need to be consistent hope this help you out. Good luck hope to see you next year 2024.
