I am mauritian. No it was not created by Dewa ( father or grand father) as is told in this clip. We inherited dhall puri from our bhojpuri coolie grand parents . It was three times as wide as this one and still served like that in the west indies who has the same Indian bhojpuri coolies inheritance as Mauritius. However, a wise dude, probably Dewa, downsize it to this size and commercialised it , because it was originally traditional for wedding only.
