A few years ago I developed plantar fasciatis suddenly of which I visited a doctor to have checked out. At the time I thought the cause of the pain was due to a sebaceous cyst that needed to be removed by surgery!😆 My GP diagnosed the issue correctly on my initial visit & prescribed a strong (prescription strength) anti-inflammatory medication in the form of tablets (diclofenac/Voltaren), which brought relief almost immediately(2-3days)!The physio who I was referred to diagnosed overpronation as the likely cause & recommended orthotic inserts & more supportive shoes. I have been wearing orthotics & haven't had it since. An important warning -anti-inflammatory medication shouldn't be taken for longer than 2-weeks!! Leading up to my plantar fasciatis I had been wearing cheap canvas shoes & I was commuting by foot alot. I hope this helps! Basically go to a doctor & you might recover much quicker!

I've been wary of purchasing On shoes because of the price point, you must have shares in On 🙂 Would you call the cloud surfer a super trainer or where does it fit in against the offerings from Nike, Adidas, asics etc

They are pricey! I have usually been able to get mine discounted. Cloudsurfer isn't a super trainer but more of an everyday daily trainer, similar to Hoka Clifton, Asics Novablast, Nike Pegasus. On's super trainer is the Cloudmonster Hyper

I’m no distance runner, but i play indoor sports and have issues with pressure on my big toes and also slipping heels since my heels are very narrow and my front parts of the feet are wide. I combo’ed #1 and #2 now it’s more tight around the heel and i almost can’t feel the shoes pressuring my big toes anymore. It feels like i have them poor laced like walking sneakers but the are firm enough to not letting the feet slipper around. Thanks!

@KingdomSilverStar23 күн бұрын
I bought it for that reason and didn't like it. Number one CV2 is way too roomy in toebox, I feel as if it's too large. It's not true size at all. Also, it feels like wind goes inside on my right shoe when I walk. I tried to adjust everything I could like tightening up laces, and nothing helped. Laces don't hold and keep losing up. The ride is pretty firm, I had On Cloud 5 waterproof for years, and those are literally #1 for city walks. You can slide in without tightening laces every day, and those are very plush, responsive, and really waterproof. I will be returning my pair asap. If you are going to buy it, try a smaller size 0.5 points or wear thick socks.

The most beneficial thing of the Skyward is keeping your heart rate low(er). Also, protection is excellent. I would not say it is definitely an easy day shoe, it works very well around 05:00 and that is not easy pace for a lot of people, comfort is great, rocker is smooth, it eats up miles so I believe it is a very good shoe for marathon training for anyone aiming 03:45-04.00 hour marathon. Also for heavy runners. As Dusty is young, light and fast, of course, it is not a shoe for him :)
@Hey_PatrickАй бұрын
Those shoes looks like clogs! Given the price and size I don’t see why these would be a good choice. Surely there are better/cheaper options for easy day runs. Hoka has been making some odd choices lately with colorways and overall shoe geometry. At least durability seems to be improving. Great review as always, thanks for your thoughts. Cheers!

Dusty - I know your reviews are mainly runner centric. However, which ON shoes would you recommend for daily walking, outdoor elements as a parent to do weekend activities with the kids, etc.? I prefer max cushion, which is what brought me to this video of yours. Thank you!

@@DanG15803 the Cloudsurfer or the Cloudrunner 2. My mom uses the Cloudsurfer for walking and she loves them. I use the Cloudrunner 2 for my daily walking shoe and they're great for that. There is more cushion in the Cloudsurfer if that's what you prefer. Thanks for watching!

@RunningWithDusty Thank you very much for the reply! I am currently debating whether to buy a "Cyclon Cross" or a "Tx Top" if I plan to use them in the city for about 5 years or longer, the Cyclon is lighter and much better for running, and the Tx Top should have excellent wear resistance, I especially liked the material of the Tx Top gaiters, it is as durable as the Alpine series

Do the "clouds" pick up much debris? I've always been concerned that a stone will get onto the gap and be hard to remove while on a run.
@RunningWithDustyАй бұрын
The gaps in the side never pick up anything. There used to be gaps between the clouds on the bottom of the shoe and those were terrible about picking up stones, but On has mostly fixed this with a closed outsole in all the new shoes (this one included).
@KingdomSilverStar23 күн бұрын
Confirming On Cloud 5 waterproof picks up every rock there is. It's so annoying, you literally stop once daily to get out one or another rock that stuck. I am not even talking about the dirt and debris inside rubber holes 😅 In the end, it's still my best and favorite shoes of all time. I can't live without it 😅 I wear one pair so much. I have holes in both heel boxes rubber grip padding 😅 I recommend buying 2 pairs when it's on sale.
