This video is 1000x more powerful when you know that she was once expected to perform this concerto while she had prepared for another, and felt the sheer horror while trying to get it together and even then she played extremely well, having remembered every note 11 months since the last time she did... After a brilliant first movement, Pires completely misses the pathos of the Andante. Wow! I am amazed that she didn't feel the yearning, the longing--at all! This really disappointing. Listen to any of Richter's performances of this to see what I mean. It's so obvious.

A21 year old Mozart at his very best even at this tender age. The beauty of the second movement comes from place mere mortals as I can neither fathom or define. When I was 21 I was lusting over my biochemistry lab partner Go figure….. Kudos to Maria and the orchestra for an exemplary performance

Listen to that left hand just fly at 4:55 - 5:05 . Such clarity! Hands down the new ‘gold standard’ recording of this concerto.

Great piano concerto, but what a terrible recording. It sounds like the mike on the piano malfunctioned. A shame because, Sergey Redkin is an excellent musician...

I've played this sonata for decades, but not with such finesse as hers! Knowing every note of this sonata, I was able to get inside Mozart's mind through the revelatory interpretation by Ms. Grimaud.

Magnificent version. Vaclsv's sopranos are always amazing. Very dynamic and solemn version. Magnificent recording, the voices are clear.
