Very nice!! I wonder if you could help me: im building 3D models (3D scanner) from brain dissections, can i export the UVs from photogrammetry and then import them to these 3D models surfaces (my scanner doesnt have such nice texture capture as a high quality camera)?. Thank you in advance!

well, I use Cinema4D, but is really difficult to find tutos about it in my language (portuguese), so, I need to search English tutorials, and even like this, I almost don't find tutorials of V-ray on C4D, but.... I realize that almost 95% of the effects that U make in 3DMax I can do it in C4D cuz V-ray node system is the same, only one or two things I need to reorganize.

First of all, a big thank you @untexturednerd for your tutorial !! After having tried several, it is the clearest and the one where I finally manage to produce a backing texture with Blender, but unfortunately I also have it in black and I don't I have no idea where this could come from... I checked all the parameters you mentioned, I don't see it. On the other hand, in Combined mode the texture is ok but it still diffuses black...

Some things ive learned: 1. plug a noise map set to fractal with a fairly small size into the distance of the distance tex. It gives a much more realistic transition from the two shades of tarmac. Mess around with the highs and lows of the noise map too. 2. Reduce some of the roughness on the worn tire track material so it has a touch of gloss. I notice that well worn road tends to shine just a small amount where its been driven over for years. 3. Add another tarmac coat to your blend material but with a distance tex this time selecting the curbs.

Hi, Try putting the CyclesBake to Combined and untick direct and undirect and let me know how you get on. @16:11

@@untexturednerd Thanks mate, that's what i did try after the first diffuse failed, combined turned out to be all over the place with the UV ( Both indirect were already off ) I also tried. I also tried Glossy, but also came out black. I've run your script, and after it finishes, maybe taking 10-15 mins to cycle through, it didn't create a single image.. I'm thinking maybe that part of it failed for whatever reason?

Hi. I've updated the script slightly to be an emission(material) as it seems to have better results. It's now a Dropbox link. Let me know if that works better for you? Also it might help to unpack the files too if you haven't.

@@untexturednerd ok script works 100%. It generates the fbx and the 1 png material but the material appears all black. I'll try the steps again to see if the same thing happens. I'm using the latest plugins btw which has slightly changed since you're video was posted. Maybe I missed one checkbox.
@untexturednerd
@untexturednerd 9 ай бұрын
@@intiazrahim So lets run through a few things to try and narrow down the error. At 14:44 - did you unpack the textures before the bake? 15:36 did you create a new UV set and make sure that it isn't visible? Then at 16:13 did you make sure to uncheck Direct and Indirect? If these are checked and you have no lighting in your scene it will produce a black texture
@intiazrahim
@intiazrahim 9 ай бұрын
 @untexturednerd OK I got it to work by changing the Bake Type to default. All options checked as well as Direct and Indirect. Voila. I guess the lighting of your archviz scene would need to match Google to be somewhat realistic. Also, the LOD makes this useful for aerial renderings and animations. Not sure about street level shots but at least there's objects in the surrounding horizon. Method 2 seems to works best for me. Still testing but thanks for the workflow options. I can assume in the future all of these steps will be available in a simple drop down menu!

Hey. Thanks for the excellent tutorial. I have a question: I also work with real time d5 render software. How do I export from Max to d5? The problem is that d5 doesn't know how to get a distance texture, so I have to somehow turn the road so that it has the texture of the paint markings and the tires. Any idea how to do this? And thanks again
@untexturednerd
@untexturednerd 10 ай бұрын
Hi. So you can bake the texture from your road material. You can see my other video road markings for SketchUp which goes over it. You will need vray's render engine still to achieve this effect though. Let me know if you need further help.

Wow thank you very much. This is exactly what I was looking for. I tried with render to texture without success. With the bake to texture (as in your tutorial) it works great. I have no idea what the difference is between them. And again thank you very much
