Good engine. I had one 10 years ago. But it does not respond well to a remap, which is unusual for a turbo diesel. Not as torquey as other manufacturer's TD engines either. But GREAT sound with 5cyls!

I have the 2.1 litre engine from this car in my C250 CDI Coupe, but with 204cv (horse power). It has sooo much torque!!!

I have S60 D5 2004. Like 5 cylinder sound. Early i was owned Audi coupe 2.3L NG petrol, fenomenal 5 cylinder sound, no need to listen any music while driving or even idling.

Yeah thats maybe true but i also have a s60 from 2001 that has spaceball that my father used to drive and that is stock 100% because he was the first owner. And facelift came 2005 if im not wrong? :)

@@hejsanhoppsan3153 Yes facelift came in 2005. I thing it can be optional. Volvo in the video is 2003 and have spaceball and facelift steering wheel so im assuming someone did converison or the spaceball shifter is from factory. Is your s60 6speed od 5speed? Maybe 6speed is originaly with spaceball.

older volvos were and still are reliable. newer ones not so much

The old D5 without DPF is very reliable. Only one thing is piston rings, but when you do regular oil changes it shouldn't be a problem.

couple of days ago my light control switch unit died :D but apart from that i love this car xd any volvo with this engine runs and runs and runs if you do regular maintenance on them

Only one negative thing about P2 volvos is control units and wiring. Volvo in the video had problem with ECM but used cost only 50 euros. And fuse box next to battery was coroded 10 euro thing.
