I used to see him in San Francisco at my neighborhood basketball gym. He used to yack on everybody there. Then when i last saw him there he slowed down and was really stiff. I was wondering what happened to him til my friend showed me this video. He wasnt the same after that.

Thank you for this! We moved to Louisville in 2000, and I didn’t attend my first UofL game until the C-USA tournament that year - so I missed pretty much all his playing career. I didn’t fully become a UofL fan until the following year when I got on campus. Great to have a look back at how special of a player he was for us. #GoCards

they tryna be Craig. Craig Hawley is goated. Look at the form. The ball handling. The mustache this man had. Pervis Ellison wore Craig’s jersey in the PanAm games bc Hawley was the best player he had ever played with. What a legend.

Back in the 80s when coach Crum was in his hey day that was the best time to be a kid in Louisville. Rolled up program pointing it like a magic wand. Kids today won't understand.

Posted at a full link to the game but here is the scenario of events that closed the gap quickly. How it went from 72-58 to 73-67 with no time going off of the clock. U of L made a 3 pointer before the fight. There was a common foul on South Carolina during the rebound resulting in the 1-and1 because U of L was in the bonus. U of L then shoots 6 free throws for the fight and associated T on the fan. South Carolina shoots 4 free throws for the fight. U of L goes 6-8 on the free throws for 9 points. South Carolina goes 1-4 on their free throws. Add everything up and thats how U of L went from 14 down to 6 down with no time off of the clock.

This shows you the power of social media. Pervis Ellison was not suspended for going on the press table and going after the fan that threw something at him. This whole brawl was much worse than the Marcus Smart incident. Players were ejected but there were not suspended multiple games. Nowadays every little thing is shown on Sportscenter and is on Twitter and Facebook.
