I have watched the likes of Tendulkar, Lara and even the great Viv. But IMHO, in terms of sheer natural batting talent alone, ABD is the best I have seen.

What those days were for me, I can't express. The fierce battles and those series from 2012 to 2018 of South Africa cricket are my sweetest memories 💕.

Sachin's 146 at Cape Town vs peak Dale Steyn is probably the greatest bowler vs batsman battle that I have witnessed. A pitch with plenty of assistance and Steyn breathing fire, it took someone of Sachin's skill level to combat that. I remember this because it was basically period of play where Gambhir and Sachin basically only scored off boundaries and they never switched sides. Gambhir faced Morkel at one end and Sachin faced Steyn at the other.
@blackdevil3664Күн бұрын
AB vs Johnson > Sachin vs Steyn. Johnson was more lethal on that day than Steyn against Sachin Sachin was surviving Steyn but AB dominated Johnson. Sahin had Gambhir who scored 93. AB had no one. AB 91 vs Aus in 2014 is the biggest 1v1 rivalry in the modern era.

@@blackdevil3664 I didn’t watch ABD vs Johnson live but ABD scored only 70 while Sachin scored nearly 150, and ABD scored in home conditions while Sachin scored in overseas conditions.
@blackdevil366416 сағат бұрын
@@nikunjdixit1175 I am talking about the rivalry. As 1vs1 AB vs Johnson was better. Sahin scored just 28 runs off 101 balls vs Steyn and AB scored 53 off 62 vs Johnson. If you filter it by away, then AB's blackathon vs Ashwin and Jadeja duo in 2015 in Delhi was better.

Something was really special about his bowling. He was bowling at 129 to 131 Kph but the bowl was zipping through like he was bowling at 140+. Batsman had no time to execute shot against him. It's something that is missing in pacers now a days.
@Jasper9000-wd5sm7 күн бұрын
I can hardly believe he played such little cricket, for a guy who got into the national team at 22 he had few successes, probably his economy rate made him a liability in the short formats. He looks easily as fast as Jeff Thomson but claimed only 5 Test wickets @60+ but very entertaining to watch.

When guys like Akram are bowling, the batsmen first look to protect their body right from head to toe instead of their stumps

Swing bowling can be easily played as the ball start moving from 20 meters away , the batsman has time to see through the ball...... but then when the seam moves..... it moves 5 meters away from the batsman....giving no time to react ~ Shaun Pollock

So fast, but so inconsistent. He was CALC the wild thing for a reason, he was either unplayable or a liability. Very rarely was he in between the two

Great bowler..but now his pace is hardly toching 130....Philo wallace clobbered him...may be seaming conditions, and the Kiwis were too circumspect....think Kiwis won this match
