If you spray CRC Marine Corrosion Inhibitor inside those switches it will coat them with a waxy layer. probably would also repel the ants

Thanks Wolfgang, at 72 it is a little hard to get on my knees to run trains and debug electrical switch problems. so now I will have everything available and easy to operate. It will take me most of the winter to rebuild, but summer runs should be good.

A lot of work going into your new design. Will you be putting in some small grasses and trees into the layout? Steep curve, can you lift it up a bit from the bottom?
@gardenrailroading2 ай бұрын
Yes,it will be a lot of work. We have always gone with a simple/easy to maintain railroad, so no tiny trees, however there are some wild cedar starts that I keep pruning back. We are planning to put in a raised platform to keep the tracks from being stomped on by deer and little feet. Also the raised platform will keep the grades a lot less steep.

I'm hoping to have a circle stack track on my outdoor layout but muck larger and wider around a gazebo dining/game room with one track going inside it on the serving table! Hopefully the stackable will look more like a big mountain!! I have an area of 200 by 200 feet to work with for my "LOCO HOBO" Rest Stop for Nomads!!!

Hi Vinny, that's the way we started, just a figure eight. Then little by little it grew into what it is today. Now it will be changing a little with the Helix going away and more industries evolving. I love the name, Loco Hobo! Are you doing videos/photos of your build? I would love to see them.

Just for general information, markers were made so only the red lenses were shown to the rear when the train was on the main. The other lenses would have been green/ green/ green or yellow/yellow/yellow (depending on the railroad). When a train takes a siding, the markers are turned so the red lens is to the inside and shows the green or yellow lens to the rear indicating the train is off the main and in the clear. The other possibility would be to extinguish the markers or remove them. The best practice is to turn them as they are made to be turned while mounted on the car's side.

Hi Roy, Thanks for the info. I know I make a lot of mistakes, it is fun learning about the correct marker lights.

Hello Join, an interesting garden railway control Train Revolution. The advantage over my DCC control is that you don't need a power connection. The sounds are also very good, but since I have equipped all my many locomotives with decoders and ESU sound. It would only be worth it for one locomotive for fun and as a fan. Very nice of you to present this control. Thanks for showing and have a great time. Best wishes from Germany Wolfgang
