@@ParkMetalDetecting I wanted to detect the baseball diamond, but I didn't want to be seen digging holes in it lol, the town came three times while I was there, once at like 6am to open the washrooms, then again at like 630 to do something to the fence, then again at like 7 or 730 to leaf blow the tennis courts, I'll have to go back on a weekend

@@ParkMetalDetecting recover speed? On the deus I run it at 3, on the legend 6, maybe if I was trying to go deeper I'd run it lower and swing slower, but I'm almost never trying to go deep

@digginggopher I like to run more recovery/sepration too. I just don't like to swing slow... now, if old silver was around, that would be a different story!

@@yodieandme.5801 I found a sterling silver match safe from the Victorian era, but it was heavily damaged, so my best find was probably a 18kt gold ring with diamonds chips and emeralds

@@Detect-Oregon there's not usually too much foil in this area, but occasionally I find some, I think I was discriminated to 6 in this video, whatever the default to deus fast is Sometimes when I just want to hunt for old copper and silver coins I'll discriminate to 80 in 14khz, but pulltabs kinda clip in and out at 80 so I dig them sometimes anyways even though I think it's a pulltab when it clips in and out The only gold ring I ever found was one number higher than a pulltab on the legend Tomorrow morning I'm going to check a really small spot that's just kinda a picnic bench in a little cubbyhole of an area, I expect to find mostly pulltabs and bottle caps as it's basically where people hide away to drink, maybe I'll try 44 discrimination there if I start hitting foil

@@bbodenthal5202 I kinda like the deus better, to me it seems more obvious what is a target, but the legend definitely hits harder on deeper targets, I don't think I've dug anything coin sized very deep with the deus HF coil, the deus is lighter too, but the deus is horrible on the beach, but maybe it was user error but I couldn't get the thing to ground balance and it was screaming on the black sand, it was a fresh water beach too not salt water, any beaches from now on I'll use the legend, legend has multifrequency too where as the deus HF coil is just 15khz, 30khz and 74khz, so less frequency options than the legend, but higher as the legend only goes to 40khz, I also keep the deus box on my go pro strap and not my shaft, so I feel like I'm learning the tones better on the deus than the legend, I only look at the numbers half the time on the deus, and mostly just for something to say to the camera, I had already decided to dig the target before I say the numbers But if I could only have one detector I'd probably go with the legend, as I think having the option to switch between multi frequency and single frequency is worth choosing the legend (or equinox if your a Minelab fan, although I've never used an equinox but I seen many KZbinrs use it)

@@ParkMetalDetecting I've only used the Nokta pointer which is the orange and grey one, and the mi4/mi6 I like the mi4/mi6 better, but it took a couple weeks to get used to the buzzing instead of beeping, but once I did get used to it I like it better than the nokta pointer You can also change the mi4 to beep as well, but the buzzing is more accurate, but the beeping is louder

Yup it's an Excalibur, I didn't like the handle was metal so I wrapped hockey grip tape around it, other than that I love the digger, but if it breaks within a year of purchase I'm going to order a predator, if it last a year or longer I'll order another Excalibur

Maybe, or it was ripped off someones neck somehow, the last link was broken I had to squish it together so it wouldn't fall off in my pouch, lawnmower probably makes most sense

On the next 2 videos I filmed I found a bunch of copper pennies, but that was about it, I was kinda struggling with the legend, I got too used to the deus, the legend sounded like everything was jumping between iron and a higher tone, maybe I just need to turn my iron volume down lol

Didn't expect it, I was thinking there might be some old coins in there because the park is at least as old as 1906, the oldest map of the area I could find, but the ground was soft and loose so if there is old coins I think they would have sunk deep I guess, but the silver ring redeemed the search

@@digginggopher if the ground hasn't been disturbed, or it hasn't been hunted out should be something there. What sensitivity do you run.

@@depthspader8820 I was 90 sensitivity on the deus, but using a small coil, and even with the big coil the deus isn't as deep as the legend I do know there was a controlled burn at one point in the past not sure if that would effect anything in the ground Maybe not too many people wandered through the trees though and just stuck to the open part of the park I did expect to find bullets and found none, I've found lead bullets, brass casings, and shotgun head stamps in the open parts of the park in the last year and a half I've been searching it

Vanquish at the beach or at the park?? I'm a little hesitant because I never used it before I don't know what to expect, I got the small coil on it right now so maybe I should do a trashy park

@@digginggopher Either one is fine. I have the 440 but I bought the smaller coil and it works great in trashy areas.

If you want to stay away from small foil use the coin program. I use both coin and jewelry program, coin program has a faster response time but, jewelry program notches in more items like smaller chains and of course smaller foil. Make sure to set sensitivity about three clicks below Max

@@mikeycod7377 tomorrow might rain so I'll probably take the legend it just came back today, but sometimes next week when it's dry I'll use the vanquish, any tips on avoiding bottle caps with the vanquish, I could take it to one park I havnt been to this year, but it's loaded with bottle caps

I could take the vanquish 540 out sometime, I bought it for my mom but she has only used it a couple times I went back out today and found a silver bull ring, maybe I can start to catch up to you, video is uploading now

My pouch was heavy from all the big iron, I would think the area has old coins but I've detected there three or four times and havnt found any coins older than 80s, some of that big iron could be 1800 or 1900s, but I just toss it out u less it's something really cool, I kept the top of a rail road spike last time I was there

It was like 4:30, most of the sketch people are gone by 3 or 4 am, all I see is people walking their dogs in the park at this time, but it is a safe area too for the most part, it's the forest behind my parents place that is sketch, there's a path that links two towns and people have been jumped back there recently, in broad daylight too, which sucks because it's a very old path and I'd like to search it

I think I did it on my long form videos, the short go pro edits I don't really fill in the description, but check my description on my yesterday's video at the old golf course, I think I did it right there
