A good amount of peeps have been asking me how i made these two shots from a couple weeks ago, so here’s a quick breakdown for you. VFX BREAKDOWN 1.) Get some footage. It’s usually best if your subject doesn’t move out of frame much for this sort of workflow. 2.) Import a clean plate of your footage into Adobe’s Photoshop. You can increase the canvas size so the image is in a horizontal aspect ratio. 3.) Select around the image and type in the sort of background you want. This can take some time, so have fun with it. 4.) Layer your new background plate behind your footage. They should blend perfectly if not pretty well. If it doesn’t, a small curved adjustment usually does the trick. 5.) Optional: Add CC Particle World onto a black solid. Adjust the settings until you get the sort of snow effect you want. (Plenty of tutorials on this) 6.) Mask any inconsistencies or elements in the foreground to add depth to the scene. Now go make somethin.
