I have never been in New York but from the movies, i remember that there is some "magical" time or scene that you have snow everywhere etc, but here as is Summer and somehow that "magic" changes Jjjajaa but we celebrate Chistmas with family and friends, eating and drinkin champagne or fernet. i hope you have a nice time here.

Pro Tip: You should define what a DNI is before repeating it over and over and talking about it forever. You're welcome. And if I were you, I would be very, very careful with Max while walking with him. I would carry him once it's time to cross.

I was about to say: That's arroz chaufa!!!! hahahahahahaha Spent 6 years in Lima (Peru) and now here I am in Buenos Aires! Try buying aji-no-sillao in Villa Crespo or Abasto (peruvian soy sauce), that's the cheap and best soy for chaufa (and a good salsa de tamarindo/sweet & sour sauce too)

You DEFINITELY have to go to De Sillas Christmas Village in Zona Norte. It's exactly what I imagine when i hear Winter Wonderland. Look it up in Google.

The Christmas season, I think, is the only time when it is preferable to be in any other country. There's not much of that feeling around here. 😕
@delfina84652 сағат бұрын
In Argentina we don't tend to decorate that much, our traditions rely more on the family gathering and comfort food. Our celebration is more similar to those of Italians and Spaniards because we descend from them.

Saludos !!

I kind of relate to you Chanel, but in an opposite way because I'm Argentinean and currently living in London and dealing with a rainy and dark winter is not easy for me. I was born and raised in Buenos Aires, I miss my family and friends and the summer sunshine at Christmas haha, great video, I wish you the best Christmas possible guys!

If you wash eggs, you need to refrigerate them. If you don't wash them, you don't need to refrigerate them. They don't add preservatives, they remove the natural ones by washing them in the US.

hey there, so there are a few xmas events like what you were looking for the one i know the most is the one for the Hungarian comunnity in Olivos, they do it every year, beside that a lot of malls have a santa to take pictures with, and in san Telmo you have in Carlos calvo and Bolivar if i m not wrong a church that does european choir and xmas festival too. Also on San Telmo there is an English pub name Gibraltar that every year they do the regular foods like for thanks giving etc, i think that the clash its because its really hot in here for the holidays so all festivities tend to be inside,and what you will see the most is at midnigth opn the 24 tons of fireworks and parties everywhere until dawn

Hi Chanel, there are apparently a bunch of events for christmas and new year in the city. For example: Parque de la Navidad Plaza Seeber, Av. Del Libertador y Av. Sarmiento. Also the huge BA in plaza congreso will be decorated for the holidays.

I think that our social perception of Christmas has more to do with, in addition to the economy, whether at the moment it is a consumer policy or adjustment policy. 100 years ago, Christmas was a simple family gathering and dinner, then came the Nordic colors and decorations of Coca Cola advertisements, and Hollywood marketing. Now even fireworks are prohibited due to the high decibels of noise, animals and autistic people, etc.
@Jyhtosixa12 сағат бұрын

I'm sorry but it's hard to get very festive with 35C weather. I grew up in Poland where we had White Christmas every year and then moved to Buenos Aires and it's just not the same. Christmas here is asado, fernet and friends and playing in the pool or pelopincho.

Hi! You can buy Christmas ornaments at pottery workshops, there are many in Recoleta and Palermo, I’m not sure about other neighborhoods. They sell little stars and things like that to hang on the tree, many of them are made by the students. If you’re interested in any, let me know and I’ll send you the addresses.

A Christmas market or fair does not mean a market devoted to ornaments... It means that it's a market that takes place during this time. Reading a name is not a good guide as to what it is sold or done there. ❤

unfortunanately BA lost the Xmas spirit probably at the '80s. People try to escape the city to have family meetings at some relative larger house with garden and "parrilla". The 'north corridor' (el bajo, Retiro, Recoleta, Barrio Parque, Palermo, Belgrano) looks empty those days. About decorations to buy, well, you know, we used to have cute little places popping everywhere but since 2020 online shopping replace it :/
@chanelmeyerr10 сағат бұрын
I agree online shopping even in the US has replaced shopping in person for the most part, but during the holiday season I see more people walking through the stores!
